Hello,
Im interested in the purchase of this LC (see Pics). This is what I know: Runs, sat for many years, needs brakes and some time to get it safely on the road. Surface rust only, minor dents. All original, second owner. Your thoughts on what they price for in this condition? Thanks .

It could be 3K or 12K... more picture need to tell.
Just for information... all regular questions you may have during vehicle purchasing,.. did't work for FJ40..
as exemple...
for 1969,.. or any years of FJ40... statement "runs" is very optimistic.. and without brakes.. it's even more interesting.. :)
all original.. also a little interesting statement.. specially for all mechanics (shocks, bearings) and fluidic (oil seal, gaskets)
Second owner,.. also did't tell anything about how this ring was used in the past.
If it only surface rust .. it maybe a good deal for progect FJ40. Ask more picture from the seller and see it in person.
If you new for FJ40 make yourself familiar to all potential problem of FJ40
Good luck.

Thanks for your reply. Not looking to keep it original so some of the above mentioned are not an issue. I have seen it in person and its very clean considering the ones I have seen and wouldnt take for $5.00. I have yet to see one under $10k this clean and original. I am aware theres alot of work and money involved in the future. The owners father bought it back in high school and did very little (4x) with it, then passed away. Son is selling it. Anyways, buying it for $5K. :-)

In Oregon, maybe go 6 or 7 k if it's really complete and the motor's good. Looks like it needs body work, rust or not. Holes drilled in the doors and the wrong wheels are minuses.
