No freakin' way. There's no redundancy. If the wires go bad the 4500 lb boat will OWN your little fj40. Trailer brakes are not reliable enough. I would _almost_ say it would be ok if you had surge brakes on the trailer, with a working cable failsafe. Almost...
Don't do it. Get a cheap 3/4 ton truck.
