I like to cruise the internet to see what the market is like. Has anyone else noticed a LOT of northeast trucks come to market the past few weeks? I am seeing some pretty good price drops on some fairly decent trucks. If anyone is willing to deal with a NE truck there are a LOT out there right now for some decent prices compared to this time last year.

Used car prices (pretty much across the board) are up right now. 100 series still holding value very well. Fuel prices UP with no indication of relief anytime soon. Good time for folks to unload a gas guzzling, rusty vehicle.

That's what I was thinking. There are a TON oh IL, OH, NY 100's in decent shape for under 10g's all over

Even here in Arizona what appears to be "decent shape" per the seller and the seller's pictures, often isn't. It's got to be even worse in the rust belt.

They're still holding value in the PNW, picked up a 99 bone stock TLC w/ service history but needed a timing belt for 13.4....That's about as decent of a price I could find.

Sometimes you get lucky with NE trucks, here's my 2006 that spent its entire life in PA and then MD, 215K miles. A little browning in the weld seams but nothing a little wire brush can't get off.

Mine isn't as good as @FxFormat 's but after looking at about 20 absolute rust buckets in the NY area I found mine which is, though rustier than I would like, still pretty clean.

Agreed, that is VERY nice for that region. Not a thing in the world wrong with that. 👍

Yep, i was pleasantly surprised when i saw the undercarriage, then i checked the carfax and it was registered in PA and MD its entire life, now in VA where i am. I will fluid film before the winter to keep the rust away. I think the trick is just to wash the under carriage after driving through the snow, go to one of those carwashes that also spray the underside and it'll get most of the crud off. Then springfield, just do a major clean where you take the wheels off, jack up the truck and just powerwash every cracks and crevice.

I wonder if we will see an increase in salvage parts from flood vehicles?

Hell no, these rigs are so water tight they coulda been Moses' chariot WITHOUT the shenanigans of having to part the Red Sea.

man, I saw one that was totally driveable this week in Illinois. $2500 99’ 200k. Def needed sons stuff but would make a great project car or just to have a a driveable 100 for 2500!

If you can remove 5 outta 6 bolts/nuts underneath without snapping a stud, that is a steal.
