Copper Staters:

I'm in the market for an FZJ-80, preferably a club truck that's lived its days Arizona. It'd be for touring, so, I'm looking for a truck:
  • in very good or excellent mechanical condition
  • with little or no rust
  • with low-ish miles
  • with modest or no mods
If you know of any, or if you've been thinking of selling such a truck, please let me know.

Thanks!

Took bad you weren't looking a few months ago, I sold a nice 93 locked with bumpers, roof rack and lots of PM's done for $11k in december. Probably should have asked more, the market is nuts.

Yeah what you originally were looking for has come and gone quite a while ago, at least for reasonable money. I imagine a triple locked ‘97 is crazy money these days. Post up some pics of the new ride, we are all suckers for pics!

Thanks. I found and purchased one locally in good mechanical condition and, relative to the ads I've seen, for a reasonable price.

She's a triple locked 94 with around 200K.

This truck will be a camper and will receive the Campteq from the 92 in my signature. I'll be ditching the horrible sidesteps. Plan to run 255/85s--as tall as will still fit in the spare space and with the least weight per height. I want to keep the planted, plush feel of the stock stance as much as possible, so will restore stock height or lift it an inch or two. The goal is better-than-stock down-travel but not much more height.

Will probably go with a 38 gallon replacement tank. I've got a 24 auxiliary tank on my 92. While I love the range, I've never needed it all except in central Nevada--and all of that weight behind the rear axle isn't ideal. Thirty eight gallons should be enough to alleviate range anxiety while keeping the weight between the axles. Will be adding a fridge and solar and probably drawers.

There's a small chance we'll cut the roof and do a full stand-up-inside camper build with the Campteq, but I doubt it. My wife and I are still discussing that possibility.

I have to say that, after a few days with it, the sound of the 1FZ-FE is very endearing.

Very nice, congrats. My first LC was a green locked 94 back in 2007. I had 255/85R16 as well. Great truck.

Looking forward to the build.

But still, running boards....:flipoff2:
