Hey guys,

I've seen the odd LHD imported diesel 70 series cruiser in Canada. It seems they are coming up from Central and South America. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any for sale (other than the LJ in Vancouver with the 2l-t:frown:) or of company's that are bringing in any.

Thanks!

Yeah, I'm aware of the Canadian sold ones. They tend to be rusty, high miled and over priced though not to mention way under-powered.

ever driven a RHD one? I'd do it in a second if I were buying a new truck!

I owned an RHD Nissan Silva about four years ago, a pain once in a while but on the whole no biggie. I am considering RHD drive units but thought I'd check out what is available in LHD, which doesn't look like much!

I found a '91 PZJ77LX in Summerland, was purchased through Luxury Imports a few years back. The 5cyl motor is a little odd ball but does have an aftermarket turbo. Truck has diff locks, a/c, arb bumper, 5 speed, 93k, etc. I has been for sale for quite a long time but the price keeps dropping. Not sure what it's worth.

I really want something that is happy on the highway and rides well but is capable off road too. The 80 series would probably suit that but finding a 5 speed with diff locks is tricky and expensive.

I also looked at the Summerland truck, over the web that is. Looks like a good deal AFAIK, the owner has thrown some money at it- bullbar-roof rack- (turbo ?). The price was 15 k, which seems comparable to a 80 series.

Yeah, I've seen the price drop from $20k to $15k over about a year. I thought I'd try lowballing a few more grand off and see as it has been for sale forever and will need a timing belt soon I'm guessing. I've been trying to find info on the 1pz motor with little to no luck, basically the 1hz missing a cylinder I guess.

oh...and luxury imports did the turbo on the truck. Owner noted he paid $26k

yep, i sold that one to him. it is worth every penny and he will not move on the price now... it is 1/2 of what he has invested.
i would buy it back in a heart beat but i have 2 70 ragtops, a 75 and a troopie and a 70 hard top... i buy another and i loose the wife, not worth it.

maybe if i sell one of the ragtops i will snag it back.

The owner indicated he is only selling as it struggles (undoubtedly) to pull a loaded double horse trailer.

Wayne, if you have time to provide any additional info on this 77 it'd be very much appreciated, mostly in relation to the turbo upgrade, boost amount and HP improvements, reliability, etc and anything else you care to mention!!! I am hoping to knock a little off the price as it is due for a timing belt I would think and the thing has been for sale for well over a year. I guess we'll see.

Thanks!

Well that is good news, I was curious! Much easier then a lot of the gas V6 'yota motors!
