Hello everyone.

For the last year or so I have been planning on leaving NJ and heading west.
After a few trips to CA, AZ, UT and NM I fell in love with the geography and all there is to see and explore. The east coast has its own beauty but just doesn't offer what the west has.

In 2010 I took a big gamble and went after something I've wanted for a long time. I was engaged in 1998 and after my fiance became ill she decided she wanted to face her illness alone. I was devastated to stay the least. We had bought a house 8 months earlier and life was great. I never saw it coming.
Throughout the years we remained friends and saw each other often. I bought another house in the next town over. I moved on, so I thought, and dated some very nice women. But I knew in my heart that Nancy was my true love.

On the drive home from Albuquerque in Oct 09 I decided it was time to move.
Why not take one last shot and ask her to come with me? I laid it all out there and she agreed!!!!!!!! 12 years had gone by and just like that we were back together. I gave her the ring back this past August. Moved back into my old house a few months ago.

So, her house is under contract. My house is out of attorney review and waiting on the buyers inspection any day now. Closing dates for both houses are May 27 & 31.
I have a job waiting for me in Sante Fe. I hope to be out there by mid June at the latest. I am a courier at Fedex Express.

Thats about all.....hope to meet some NM cruiserheads soon.
I hope to buy another LC in the near future. As you can tell from my sig I dont have a real one:D

Sounds like things are going great for you, so hopefully your move continues as smooth. Not many HDC members in SFe, but I'm one of them. I'll be out of town first half of June, but if you need a hand after that, let me know.

cheers

It sounds like things are starting to go well for you; what a neat bio! Real or not, I enjoy my FJC, and it's as capable as I need. Look forward to seeing you on the trail.

don't count out the FJC! congrats on life moving forward! see you here.

It's about time you posted up Lovey.

I've known Lovey for a number of years now and have been egging him into coming out west for a long time.

I'm very happy to know he is finally making this big move.

That's because the average SF resident has a deep-seated hatred for anything that isn't a Subaru, hybrid or LUV. It's only a matter of time before the lynch mob chases you out.

Seriously though, looking forward to meeting you. FWIW, I get more grief for not owning a 'real' Land Cruiser ('99 UZJ100) than the FJC guys do. But it probably has less to do with the truck and more to do with the owner.

Thank for the warm welcome...

The FJC has served me very well. I just never really liked the looks of it. It was an impulse buy.
I viewed it as another quality Toyota 4x4 product. It has lived up to those expectations for me.
As much as I hate it...I love it just the same.

Welcome Lovey! there is a good bunch of guys around here. proof is they let me hang around

LOL c'mon marc if we didn't like you we wouldn't tease you!!!:flipoff2::D

Hi Lovey, have you met Daisy? :D

I've always liked and respected the FJC and rode in one today. We have a few in the club and we hope more owners will find HDC and get active in our meetings and trail runs. Most of us like (and drive!) everything Toyota or Lexus builds. Congratulations on the move to NM and the good news in your love life.

-Mike-

Well now you have...
Hi I'm Daisy!
Welcome to our neck of the woods, hope that all works out well for you!

Welcome Lovey! We're looking forward to meeting you, even if you are a friend of Onur's! As you can tell, there's a lot of good natured ribbing that goes on with this crew.

Too bad you won't be here a few weeks earlier. Next Wednesday, we will have a convoy of five trucks headed up to Moab Utah for Cruise Moab, and I'm sure more of the group will show up for some of the activities. Get it on your calendar for next year - registration usually opens up around New Years, and the event usually runs the first weekend in May (Wed. through Sunday).

Also, we have had an annual High Desert Cruisers club trip to Moab every Columbus Day weekend (mid-October) for the last five or six years. We do a lot more than Moab, but I've got Moab on the brain right now. I'm getting excited for next week's trip.

My wife and I will be hosting the June High Desert Cruisers meeting at our house in the mountains east of Albuquerque on Saturday, June 4th. It's about an hour from Santa Fe. That may be too soon for you, but come on down and meet the group if you're already in the area. If not, we'll see you later in the summer.

Evan

Lovely:

As others have said, great intro post. Many best wishes for you and your honey, even if you chose Santa Hey as your home base.

This is a great bunch of people, who support LC addictions for pretty much anyone who asks for help. They've tolerated my lurking for many years now, and IH8MUD has enabled my cash infusions into the LC for even longer.

very cool to hear your good fortune Lovey!

its been a while but I still appreciate you helping me get the hood back on the 80! I'm sure you will enjoy Santa Fe.

Yeah man been a real long time.
Hope you are doing well.

I am re-thinking my commute and looking at some property in the Placitas area.
I dont really care anymore....I just want the f#*k out of New Jersey in the worst way.

I'm trying to sell a 1.88-acre lot in Algodones if you're interested in checking it out.

Are you going to be a courier in the Albuquerque or Santa Fe area? If your delivery truck/home base is in Albuquerque, I would highly recommend not living in SF. You'll have a 1-hour commute each way with pretty heavy traffic unless you ride the train. SF is close enough to Alb. to make easy day trips for the cultural experiences but you won't have to pay the higher costs of housing to live in SF and can escape the 'environment' whenever you want. Placitas is only ~15 minutes from the north end of Albuquerque, a very reasonable commute and it's a pretty neat place to experience living in the high desert.

I will be working out of the Santa Fe station.
