I just got lucky, had a search alert set up on FB Marketplace, and again got very lucky. Followed through diligently and paid in cash, fast. In today’s market, I paid just under 20K for a 2011 LX 570 with 238K. It’s rust free, and a decent service history is there. Not enough for me to know where it’s at right now regarding all of the fluids so I am going to have more upfront immediate cost. The last 30K miles only has 2 oil changes on record, but the oil isn’t low, looks clean, and they said they used a garage in a small town in Texas, soooo. It’s never been wrecked, but it’s definitely been driven. Front seats both look very used. Otherwise, the main screen is dimmer and yellower than it should be by a long shot. What is the fix here?
As far as the drive goes…. I can’t believe how tight it feels with this many miles. It’s feels tighter and sportier than my ’14 Tundra with only 137K miles, which I owned since new. It baffles me, honestly. There is a lot more steering assist going on here but the handling is amazing versus my expectations.
I have owned a lot of vehicles, over 30 in total, and I am 47 years old. This one has plenty-o-power to spare, but you will feel it in the wallet with these gas prices. If I baby it, I might creep into 14/15 mpg range, but if I drive it the way it wants to be driven, I get 12-ish. I haven’t owned a 100. I have driven a GX 460 with same motor, and it’s fun to drive but doesn’t feel as solid and heavy as this one. It’s not a 100 series though, so I can’t compare. It’s going to get roughly the same mileage though, so difference in fuel cost between the 2 can’t be much. When you close the drivers side door of any LC, especially when exiting the vehicle, it’s a unique sound and solid feeling. It feels a lot like my tundra but heavy and tank like, and much more responsive.
Any suggestions that are the absolute must do’s for a new 200 owner with no known mechanical issues, but a spotty recent history?? Please PM me.
