Our black/beige 08 200 is now approaching 400k, and after discussing replacing it with a newer 200 or LX 570, my wife said “buy something for you , like another 911, but I love my LC, and want keep it long term “.
I have owned far too many vehicles to admit to, and can count on one hand those I would own again… Yes, the right 911 I would definitely own again…and a couple pre 1970 muscle cars too, and of course, a LC200…. But don’t need two… so it looks like putting money into our 08 is the plan… which is 200% OK by me…
The interior is still an amazing color combination, and other than the drivers seat bottom, rear cargo area carpeting and a left rear upper door panel ( both collie puppy chew toys ), it’s In amazingly great shape! Door speakers and front door interior glass felt all need replacement, which is a bit challenging due to door panel plastic becoming somewhat brittle , but doable still if new door panels not obtainable….
Recently waxed it, and it amazing how the look of it still impresses us. These pre 2013 200s still look impressive, and indicate it is a special vehicle. Later 200s as well…
Trans already replaced, so it’s now trace and fix some oil leaks, a couple of sensors, and some repairs to the interior to freshen it up…… some money yes…but worth it.
The new vehicles have lost something… 2023 seems to be that last of what these vehicles are..at least to me. Quality is rare today, but Japanese built vehicles are the only ones I would consider today…. Unless someone needed a 3/4 ton or better truck , where a proper F250 or 350 works brilliantly…
Looking like a restoration project is in my future… and I’m OK with that…. so maybe a used LC 500 is in order…instead of a 911…
