Looking at buying sight unseen. Clean truck. Decent deal. Is this a no go?

I personally don't like ANY rust. But everyone's tolerance level is different... If your patient you can find the same deal with no rust i would imagine.

Doesn't look too bad. What MY? How many miles? Where is it located?

I've seen way worse, and personally I don't think either pic is cause for concern. Even southern rigs get surface rust from salt. More importantly, what is the maintenance history? Price?

Full maintain hx. Bought and serviced and now for sale at the same place. Around 18k.
Nav. Dvd. Black ext tan interior. The wife is sick of looking.

I'd be more concerned about body rust. Front fenders, windshield A pillar and top, rear hatch, rear wheel wells are some hot spots.

@jesco I notice a small wire here not connected to anything, but not sure if that just because of the angle of the picture. I am not sure what it is, and I dont have access to my LC right now to compare, but someone probably can chime in here.

I personally wouldn't accept that, but that's my tolerance level as a guy who came from the Midwest and has been in the southwest for the last 20 years. To me its worth a plane flight to somewhere without rust. My 2000 with 190k has not 1 spot of rust on the underside and the PO never washed the underside. I think people in the rusty geographic areas are impatient and don't want to travel to purchase. Of course, that is good for us out here.

rust wise, I don't think that is bad at all, even for outside the rust belt.

Mine lived most of its life up north, and while the rust isn't all that bad, I've had to get pretty good at drilling and tapping...

If I ever buy another used vehicle, it will be a west coast / southwestern vehicle with no rust. There are plenty out there if you're patient. Every time I spend an hour drilling and tapping a broken bolt I think about it.

Here's a rare 2006 no NAV/no AHC one owner from Puerto Rico that's now in Oklahoma City. It's a pretty penny, though!
