How about the NAV, back up camera? Owners says its out, but air conditioning works. 1500$ to replace. Sound accurate? Said its been out for some time.

I'd be a little cautious of any of the "pricey" repairs (frozen sunroof, non-working MFD, overdue timing belt change, etc) and expect a discount beyond the cost of the repair for the following reasons:

1) There might be more to the identified problem than meets the eye.

2) If they have neglected this problem, what else might they have neglected (or not repaired by the book).

If the NAV is out, it may be a bunch more expensive than $1500 to R&R. I agree with jLB on the issue of neglected problems. Anytime sometime tells me "It's been like that for a while", I wonder what else has been ignored.

I hear ya. This one is cherry besides the aforementioned. All service records, all belts and preventative maint. Clean and rust free with treatment underneath. Makes the previous one look scary. Thanks for the help and I hope it is what its proposed to be. Ill let you all know how it turns out. Thanks again.

THIRD PARTY INSPECTIONS... I had to learn the hard way bc I'm too trusting but its definitely worth it. It will save you so much time and money in the long run.

Good luck!

Jesco, was that the one over in Libertyville? Black 2006? I checked it out in person, bad rust case. Rust all along the windshield, rust along the entire lower tailgate pinch weld, and in both rear fenders. I ran as fast as I could away from that one. You can do way better.

The less rust you can find, the better. I live in the Mid-Atlantic region. These states use brine spray and rock salt to the point that I have to wash my floor mats periodically. Roads stay white all winter, even when dry. New trucks look like that after three winters. I wash my frame weekly from December to March and park my car over asphalt. That degree of surface rust bothers me, but is unavoidable here.

Yep. Thanks for the info. I did move on and I jumped on the black one in the classifieds. The spots I was told to look at are immaculate. Ill post one pic up in a second.
