That looks much nicer than mine. Pretty sure I wasn't holding four decimal place tolerance with the belt sander! Nicely done!

Thread was super helpful, this just happened to me Sunday morning as I was going to the parts store for oil to do a change before taking the Cruiser on vacation with the family.

I concur its pretty easy to just remove the white position switch on the underside instead of trying to get the broken piece out with a pick. I fit under there fine laying on my back with legs outside of car and head/ shoulders under the dash.

I'd be lying if I say I made it myself.
I got lucky to know someone that loves doing cnc stuff, he made one for me

I have shown him so this thread , I got 20 or so messages looking to make this. but he is not interested unfortunately.

Could you post the dimensions?
Thanks

Does anyone know when Toyota beefed up that rod?

I ask because I had this happen in my '99, fixed it with the beefier rod from Toyota, and now I just bought a 2004 and am hoping that the stronger rod was included in the 2004. Anyone have an ignition rod break on a 2004 or later?

This just happened to me last night. Car is DOA in the Chipotle parking lot. I have a 2003 LX 470 and have done a search on PN 45280-60510 and have gotten a wide range of results / prices depending on source. Since I'm not using the entire assembly, can anyone tell me if there is a difference in the shank piece I'll be using to replace?

says applicable for 2003 LX 470

says it doesn't fit 2003 LC but PN is same?

mentioned in this thread as the correct part but unsure if this is the same for 2003 LX

Any help is appreciated.

Cut a slot in a deep socket like my previous post and that will get you around until the part arrives.

any input on the PN links? for what I need on my 2003, is there any difference between the 3 linked PNs?
I believe that confusion is that the land cruisers didn’t have tilt wheel on the 98-03 like the Lexus part that your looking at did. Or maybe the cruiser added tilt in 03 only and there’s a overlap. My lx is a 99 and the 98-03 PN fit but since I don’t have a 03 I can’t guarantee 💯
