If you had the choice... and the price was the same.... which tire would you chose for a daily driver?

key word... daily driver.....

look forward to the replies

TOYO

hard to think you would want that for a DD.... Toyo makes nice tires IMOP.

Toyo M55 is a great tough tire. Good in muck and rocks too. If they make your size I would recommend that tire first.

I have gotten great mileage with the bfg's. I would go with the new mud terrians.

New BFG or Old BFG? AHHHHH that is the question.
Just throwin it out there. Although I don't think the 16" rim size is available till 08.

Smallest 16" rim size for the new BFG MT is 315. All others are bigger sizes on larger rims.

TR

Ive run bfgs mts since the first came out in the late 70s.....good tires but ooooold.. the TOYO r a much better tire now.
but im not sure bout the NEW BFG mts, they might be good?

just my .02

Man the new BFG's are super sweet and crazy sticky.

BBBUUUUTTTTTT............

Im still down wit the Toyo's

I really hate the set of BFG MTs I'm running on my 60. My biggest complaint is that I can't wear them out. They totally suck in the rain, and are noisy as h#ll. The up side, is that I got this set used, I've put 40k miles on them, and at this rate they have another 20k in them. So they are not all bad. I would not buy another set though.

My other 2 trucks have MT/Rs which I like. My next set of tires, though, will be the Toyos.

yup!
LT255/85R16 TOYO M55 for every day
35x12.50R15 BFG MT for play

I'd dump the BFG MTs if I could get the M55s in a 35" size

The main difference between the BFG and the Toyo is the rubber itself. Toyo's are made from a much harder rubber than the BFG's, thus they last longer, but they are inferior offroad. If you want a street MTR then get the Toyo. If you want an offroad tire and a proven winner get the BFG.

I have been running the Toyo MT's 315's for over a year and have been real happy with them. They are only slightly louder than the BFG AT KOs I sued to have (Now on RODs truck) and much much quieter than the Goodyear MTR's that use to be on daughterofromers truck.

I had them siped when I bought them and the performed great last winter as well.

My favorite on and off road tire after having them for a while.

Off road performance is tops and a significant improvment over the BFG AT's I use to run. I was sold on the offroad performance after watching a few wheel with it and reading some reviews.

Not sure why the previous poster said BFG is the proven winner. It's a great tire as well but who proved it?

After reviewing all the MTs I came down between the Coopers and Toyo's over the rest, but thats my opinion.

I think he is thinking of the most Baja races wins, which the Toyo Mt just won a year ago or two?

I think that was with the BFG Baja's

I have put toyos on everything I own and all customers cars that are willing to buy them over what "they think" are a good tire. Toyos are awesome and make a tire for every need, My wife got 70k out of her last set of toyo spectrums. My Silverado has 265 75 r16 Toyo open country ATs on it half worn at 30k, I have seen 50k out of the M55s on a 1 ton dodge, cummins with a utility bed. Its huge. I couldnt lift it on my old 9000lb challenger. We all know how dodges wear tires. The owner and builder of the opentop Lexus 470 rockcrawler that Im sure weve all seen runs 40" toyo mts. Ill find a link to the pic.

Bfgs in my opinion are a good tire, but not a great tire. They love to cup {ats} depending on what they are on.

If money wasnt the issue buy the Toyos any day. Bfgs and Mtrs are for jeeps. Put a Japanese tire on it will make the LC happy.

Just my opinion, sorry bfg guys-nothing personal
