Here's an idea I had about a roll cage, not sure it'll work but figured I'd throw it out there. Ok I have the stock cage for the back, could I go and take measurements off, say Alan's, Front bar at the windshield and the 2 top cross members. Buy the tubing and have it bent at a muffler shop, weld it and attach it to the stock roll bar. And it be just as strong as if I were to buy the whole thing from say Metal tech. Of course goin underneath and bringing it down to the frame also for support.

Ok decided to look at Metal tech just to compare prices, and they have there's for 130 plus 80 bucks shipping, so I know I can do better on the price. But one thing that concerns me is there Legal notice on the bottom, and maybe David can clear this up for me. Says that kits are sold for show and not as life saving devices????? I mean isn't that why we put them on is to Protect our selves, I guess I can see it they put that on there so if they get sued. But last time I checked, most people put cages on to help protect themselves. Of course if you're goin 90 mph and flip yeah you're gonna die, but if you're rock crawlin I hope it'll save my cranium or should I wear a bicycle helmet when I go wheelin now.

Now that I've rambled on, let me know what ya think and if anyone has priced metal tubin from a shop lately, what's the current price goin, I know expensive.

Thanks a bunch

quit being a cheep ass chuck and buy from metal tech......... you have seen the custom stinger he did for me, it is stout!!!! and of all the cruiser vendors I have done business with he was the most pleasent to deal with. Mark is a good guy, and no muffler shop around here can bend you the thick metal you need for a roll cage; the thickness of exhaust tubing isn't near thick enough for aything short of a cosmetic roll bar. Ask Alan how thick his cage done by the muffler shop is I would find it hard to believe if it is as thick as the metal tech cage.........thicker is better...........and come on chuck support your fellow cruiser heads.............. as for the waiver on his website it is the same as saying "condoms are 99.9999999999999% safe", in todays lawsuit crazy world you have to cover your ass some way. Just come over and check out the left over tube from my stinger and nose gaurd, it would keep your brian in it's current state........ of course that may not be a good thing :flipoff2:

I will weld it up for you for a few of my favorite imports chuck which ever route you choose:)

Get a MetalTech cage. Period.

Great product. Mark is great to deal with and his products are super nice and seriously stout. The disclamer is there so that if some jackass tries to weld it with a sodering iron and it failes mark isnt liable but his cages are just as strong as any custom cage that you can have made. As far as price goes with tubing prices where they are now you would be lucky to get the tubing, have it bent (an exhaust bender will wrinkle the tubing), spend the time geting the bends right, throwing away bad bends, etc....for $210. It will cost you way more than if you just call Mark.

Cool, I wasn't doggin Mark or anything, just picked metal tech cause that was the first to come to mind. Also it was my monster garage cruiser creativity that got this idea in my head.... of could I build one from scratch.
