I made a rack out of some scrap lumber yesterday for my new touring bike. I was sure enough that I didn’t want traditional notched arms for the top tube to rest in. But other than that, I’m undecided.
Part of me wants to go and contrast that walnut/oak combo with a piece of PVC/ABS cut lengthwise into a trough, run between the two arms. Two short sections of an old radiator hose would work too.
Top tube is 1.5”, if that makes a difference.
TIA
