Well I entered Frogstomper down in Mechosen on Saturday. It was pretty good after I got over the first obsticle... the second try after twisting up the rear drive shaft on the first try. Right after that some knucklehead left the parking brake on and then tried going up a hill in front wheel drive using the pin it method... now it doesn't work and the parking brake backing plate made an interesting sound for the rest of the day and the drive home. All in all I had a really good time and it was just hardcore enough for me. Not so challenging for some of the competetors though.

Thanks again to Stumpy for spotting and Too Tall for giving me a spare d/s and packing spare axle shafts for me.

Unfortunately I didn't take many pics, there wasn't a whole lot of time for it. I got a couple of the gang bang at the end. The unfortunate truck at the bottom of the heap belongs to the winner.

My truck is obviously very enviromentally concious, it made sure to pack out the broken parts to staging where we fixed it. I never even noticed it was there until after I bolted the new one in. Never heard it with the front of the shaft clunking on the skid plate...

Heres the link to blackflag with some more pics and a couple vids. You gotta be a member though.

I pulled the skid plate and the parking brake drum off last night... I couldn't tell you the last time the skid plate was off, maybe a couple years... It appears one of the bolts was broken for a while so I'm guessing the other 3 were loose. The skid plate is long and covers the belly past the u-joint on the shaft so it is not easy to check or adjust the backing plate. Let this be a lesson to everyone with this style parking brake!!! Anyone have a spare cable for a 77?
