Damn.

Sorry folks if discussed somewhere else. I did try 'search' feature.

So my engine is done. Overheated now blows the white smoke.

What MYs can I use/buy? I was gonna buy a later MY 2003-2005 engine but... I can't?

Please lend me advice.

Thanks folks!!

Greg

Search "replacement engine", limited to titles only, 100 section only, dozens of threads. Short of it is, any 98-05 LC/LX will work, same years of Tundra/Sequoia will work, but require swapping some parts. Recent thread on this too.

Thanks for info. So it appears I can by a later MY engine ... but will need to use some stuff from my 2k engine. OK

Perfect

As stated above, any pre-VVTI 2UZ can be made to work; some parts differences in the non-100 series.

But... what makes you sure the engine needs to be replaced? Just white smoke? How's the compression? Head gasket?

My local mechanic checked.
Started getting ODB errors for temp sensor, Misfires errors, Cat Sensor errors.
So everything is just getting wet.

I noticed it kept drinking coolant but viewed no leaks. Then started smelling coolant ... and the biggest tell... milky oil. 412k on the clock.

OK All.

Purchased a 2005 LX470 engine w/200k.
So here's whats next-
Replace these;
Starter
VC Gaskets
Oilpan Gasket
Ex Manifolds/Gaskets
Waterpump, T-Stat, Tensioner, Timing Belt
Plugs/O2 sensors

Use the old T-Body.

Any other advice/gotchas?

Thanks!
