I need a good fuel tank for 86 4 runner

18 months ago I put new fuel tank in my 4 runner and moved to south central va. One two of the spotwelds that hold the fuel pump bracket in tank are leaking. Anyone near chralottesville Lynchburg waynesboro area got a good tank anywhere they wana sell cheap. I got a 86 4runner. 22 re model .

Thanks devilhanfs but thats a 100 miles from me. How u been. Im livimg near scotsville now. I got a line on 2 86 2 wheeldrove trucks 22 r motors. Ones got 256k other has 36k orig8nal miles. Think8ng bout buying the low milage one pulling the motor and selling everything else off the truck. Has been started in 2 years farm trucks. Barn finds. I no it dont have anything to do with my fuel tank .just shooting the shyt

We could probably get it relayed up from Fredericksburg if the seller was willing to drop it off at IPOR or Forge Specialties. We usually have representation from one or both shops at our meetings and our next one is Wednesday.

Word. Bummer to hear that you're still having fuel issues.
I've been looking at aux tank options to extend the vehicle range to 500 mi w/o refueling.
I've heard that a ford van tank fits perfectly between the frame where the spare tire usually sits.

Btw, have you considered some type of epoxy to repair the tank spotwelds? There should be something that is strong enough and petroleum safe that would work.

Tried jb weld didnt work. In tiwn now gonna buy permatext fuel tank repair. And go home try to scrape off jbweld. Tanks only 18 months old im so pissed
