Yep, The only problem is its not mine:mad:

A young doctor customer on mine just bought an old house on the side of the mountain. We are doing some LED recessed lighting for him and while I was tracing a wire I found 3 bags of silver dimes stamped $500. Yes 3 bags $500 each (face value) of silver dimes. I will post pictures later.

Melted value based on todays price $35438.88

I called the Doc an he is on his way home sounding very happy and claims to be very appreciative for my honestly...we will see

Way cool find Phil!

Ive always wondered how people stash valuable things then "forget" them or dont leave the info in the will?

Strange :meh:

Great find!!!! You can buy alot of Snorkels with that change.

A couple of 1916 D mercury dimes would put the value way over melt. My uncle found a 1916D in a lot that they tore out when they put in the light rail down town. He sold it for 2500. Funny thing is there was another old house that was over off of 3rd ave and Roosevelt that I had gotten in to and detected and really didn't get much out of. When I got in and detected it the old 1909 house was still sort of standing. A couple month went by and I drove by it again and it was tore down and just a scraped lot. So I got out and detected and found a few wheat penny's also think I got a v nickle. So a week goes by and my uncle calls me and says you know that old lot off of 3rd and Roosevelt I said yeah well he said he just got a 1901S Barber quarter out of the same lot I had just detected. He sold that quarter a year later $12000. If he had slabbed it and sent it out to be graded he would have gotten close to 20 grand for it. So it just goes to show you that old houses in phoenix hold some serious treasures. Also some people have all the luck.
