I just wanted to let you guys know, I have sold my Landcruiser.
I wanted to thank you for all your help with tech info.
By far, this was the best forum I have attended with numerous vehicles.
Thanks alot and keep up the good info flowing!

You people disappoint me. Unless if you bought a newer cruiser? You should never sell a cruiser becuase nothing can replace it. The thing is priceless. You are never going to find a vehicle as dependable as this one. In a couple years you are going to say: "Sh!t I never should have sold my cruiser".

good luck
if you have any money left over from selling the cruiser and buying your next car, put it into a fj40(1K) plan :D
the last few times Ive been back in the cities, Ive seen mostly 100 and 80 series and lexuses. saw one 60, no 40s. They must have all rusted away.

any details why you sold it??? what did you get for a replacement vehicle....too much $$$ in PM in the LC ??

Say it isn't so :slap: Well, I guess if this is good bye :flipoff2:

Whatever the reason, I hope you did well on the sale :D and thanks again
for the center caps, I finished them last week and they look great :)
best of luck to ya

Adrian,

If you have any spares hanging around, feel free to send them to Beowulf@Paypal.com :D

My cruiser might have to go up for sale soon. Can't decide to get another 80 or find a car that is less expensive. I love my truck, it just doesn't love my wallet. Hard to keep gas in it, when I'm goig to be going to college and out of the house next year. bah I'll prolly just keep it too hard to see it go!

Well,

I have sold my cruiser not because of money but more toward purchasing a "regular" car since my wife has Discovery (Which she will NOT get rid of).
I was sad to see her leave. I sold it to fellow member Montanacruiser. Very nice guy and easy transpaction. I did get what I asked for.
All my spares, manual went with him. AS being a fellow Mud member, I wanted to give him as much as I can since he will needed eventually.
It has been amazing vehicle with no problem. Small things needed to be fixed, but if you have used car, you have to expect small things lto repair.
I always wanted to have an Audi A8 and that is what I got. 97 A8 with 122k miles. Brand new transmission, tires, and did pre-purchase inspection. Nothing came in negative and price was right. It is Pearl White with tan interior.
I am sure I cannot compare to cruiser since it is apple to orange, but I am happy because I got the car I always wanted. I wish I could have kept the cruiser and got this Audi, but I am expecting baby in May, and financially, I couldn't afford to keep three cars. ($180 per month in diapers!! Yaaeeks..)
I wanted to thank all of you for all the information, all the valuable discussion, and all the life benefitting advises you have provided. I will cherish it all.
Good luck.
Thank you.

If you spend $180 a month in diapers you are doing something wrong. You need to learn about bulk quickly. I have two kids and I spend $60 a month max on diapers (Huggies).

Enjoy the A series, I want a turbo diesel car to buzz around in (VW TDI perhaps) but with the new GMC, the TLC, and all the horse fun my wife makes me afford it gets tricky.

Lurk here, maybe you can find another TLC soon.

my dream car = honda s2000 -- though the new stuff from toyota isn't looking too bad either --

-- either way, the 80s will stay -- :)

not padding at all here  but if they sort out the power issues with the RX-8 and offer a twin turbo I will officially be smitten.

Yep, that pearl is my all-time favorite Audi color. Unfortunately they quit using it (dealership said it was due to environmental impact problems at the factory with the metallic component of the paint).
Audi has great technology, but the durability isn't what it should be. TLC has great durability, but stays well behind the leading (bleeding) edge of tech.
BTW, make sure you subscribe to Quattro magazine, the audi owners book. And check out the new smooth auto tranny that'll be on the '05 or '06 A8.

I'll second that. I think buying one of those is my only chance of wrestling the cruiser out of my wife's hands...

Is that in reference to the cruiser or the wife? ???

Digressing to chat here but anyone have any opinions?
Been considering replacing my wife's car lately. Contemplating 4-5 choices, Accord coupe 6-spd/6cyl, suprisingly fast but everyone has one. G35 coupe/sedan but they only come in rear wheel drive if you want the manual trans. Wish Lexus would beef up the IS300 and change the tail lights. Would really like to get my hands on a cherry used GS400, fast with Lexus quality, but again, rear wheel and wife's wants front or awd.

MoJ,
Have an Accord 4 cyl. 9 years old. Total repair (not incl. reg maintenance and tires) over 9 years: $120 (1 engine mount)
HTH, good luck!
Eric
