Hate it because is like the oil or tire pressure questions but I'm still confused so I ask..

I rather have power over longevity and I don't care if they produce dust but they need them be QUIET..

I'm used to buying motorcyle rotors (even the ones for my bicycles are more re expensive than most) so the prices don't really scare me, they will be use dayly in Minneapolis so I don't know if cast iron is the way to go, I'm not a "performance" driver but the life of my girls is everything for me, so besides cool looks I don't think I need slotted or refrigerated but if they work better hey..

So what is the consensus..??

I find a bunch of ''OE spec'' on amazon but none OEM, where do you get them from..??

Sorry ask me about GS motorcycles or mountainbikes and I can answer a lot of things but cars I have no clue..

I agree as a BMW owner also OEM pads are not great and costly with better aftermarkets disk/pads to choose from.

Over the years I have tried other aftermarket manufacturers for my LC but always come back to OEM.

Some of the lowest prices and free shipping on qualifying orders.

Powerstop has a good product. Free shipping from Autoanything.com with $30 rebate on some kits. No sales tax for some states.

I used EBC sport rotors and pads on my LC and the Powerstop ZZ3 kit on my wife's RX. I like both but for half the cost I would do the Powerstop over the EBC. Powerstop came with new retaining clips for the pads.

a few weeks ago I put Bosch rotors and pads (quietcast line).
So far I'm very happy, the stopping power is great and they are very quiet. The price is great also.

OEM or Terrain Tamer. I've used both and have been satisfied.

Toyota OEM - they can last 100k+ and not terribly more expensive than other aftermarket options.

If you still have the factory calipers match the Toyota pads to the factory calipers. Some aftermarket pads don't fit perfectly in the stock caliper and can shift during braking and make noise. Also suggest replacing the retaining clips, and backing plates.

If you go aftermarket, buy the matching caliper for the best result.

If is TOYOTA I want it, man the quality and longevity of the parts is outstanding..

Ps: on my BMW motorcycles I never use OEM brake pads, they may last and will not ''scare'' you but the braking performance is very subpar to the aftermarket..

I agree 100% on non OEM pads/rotors on our moto's

Amen...

I really think they install such weak pads so test riders don't get scare the first time they ride them, plus they are "high mileage" and don't produce dust (very important for the BMW demografics but I guess I never got the Memo since the least of my problem is a dirty bike..

So i was researching this myself for my own 100 ( and my dads tundra) and here is what i came up with. Quite a few people gave great feedback about these products too.

If your in MN, cryo yreated rotors wouldn't be and bad choice at all:
Rotors
Front :126.44086CSL / 126.44086CSR
Rear :126.44087CSL/ 126.44087CSR

Pads: The centric fleets are what all the cop cars and ambulances have on them. Made to perform for a long time. Matched the rears with same material
Front: CENTRIC 30607720 Centric Fleet Performance Pads w/hardware
Back: CENTRIC 10607730 Posi-Quiet Extended Wear w/Shims and Hardware

If i didnt go with these pads i would probably go with the oem (the true oem that have the large pad surface area) and require bull**** separately purchased oem toyota shims. I went this pad route on my 4Runners and Sequoias and decided to stop doing this.

I would avoid drilled rotors, slotted doesn't really have any bad feedback.

Just the route I took and the research I did.

I just bought Hawk LTS pads and OEM rotors. Will be installing soon and going on a road trip. I'll give some feedback on those if you're still looking. I really liked the Hawk HPS pads on my type R so hoping to get similar performance with hopefully less noise.

I have used OEM, Brembo, and Bosch... OEM wins for me. Less dust, great braking and moderately priced. Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters has OEM and others at great prices.

Thanks Drew, I just ''place a order'' for OE parts with Kurt's shop (I think)

I like to support good people and he is a great resourse, shame I don't live next door to them anymore..

I used DBA 4000 Series T3 Slotted Rotors and Hawk LTS Truck/SUV Pads. After I lifted my truck with 10" and adding 38x15.50 tires (~400lb each tire and rim), I had stopping issues with OEM set-up (80 series brakes on my 100). To top it off, I warped the rotors within 3 months of use. So I assumed that I have to do brakes every 3-6 months. This can really be expensive on the long run. So I was on a hunt to find somebody to possibly make me some larger brakes that will last longer than 6 months and stop my car sooner than later. In the interim, I tried the DBA 4000 series with the Hawks, my stopping issues improved considerably, enough that I'm very happy with them. I have passed one year now and I still have 90% left on my pads and no vibration, no brake dust, or noise. So far so good..... To this day I cannot find anybody that will sell/fabricate a custom brakes, I checked with Willwood, Breembo, and others.... no love.

Good to hear that the LTS work well. I was half worried that they would be noisy
