...which is a little embarrassing for me, since I'm not an IH guy, and I'm a rather rabid White Truck nerd (in addition to the cruisers).

But all that said, White didn't make anything like this, and certainly not that was in my neck of the woods to buy!

So here she is, in all her glory: a 1965 International 210D.

  • 4WD
  • Locking Diff (front)
  • Cummins NH-180, with a Turbo
  • Power Steering
  • Wasau 10' snow plow
  • 10 Speed Road Ranger
  • 6-7 Yard bed
This truck was originally owned by Colorado DOT, who operated it with a wing on the side. It was then purchased by a quarry/excavator/junk collector in Rollinsville, CO, who sold it to the guy I bought it from.

You see, the property is at 9,000 feet, and both my wife and I can be gone for a long time at a stretch. Because of that, reopening the road if the snow should get crusty is was a concern in the winter. So really, this will be a dedicated plow truck in the winter, and it will also haul dirt and gravel for us (which we definitely need as we start building the house). Also, it's just flipping' cool!

Without further ado: here's the truck!

For frame of reference, I'm 5'10" and the top of the fenders are eye level for me. The thing is a BEAST. A very, very slow beast.

Plans? Not much really. It's in gorgeous, original shape. Everything works on it (except the tach, needs a new cable), so mostly I'll clean little things here and there, but I'm going to try and leave it as is for the most part, and just work it as needed.

Pretty snazzy, eh?

Pretty neat. You going to use it like it is or spruce it up?

Mostly as is, but I'll also clean up bits here and there. (I've already replaced and old electric fuel shutoff solenoid with a new one) It really is complete and works very well as is, but anything I touch I will certainly clean and make sure it's tip top.

Don't know when I'll get around to the biggest cleaning task, but I would like to wire wheel the dump bed and give it a new coat of paint. It's the shabbiest looking part of the truck.

Cool truck.

Thanks! I hauled two loads of structural fill with it yesterday. Turns out I can't even tell that it's hauling 10+ tons of dirt. It still goes 43mph up or down the hills. ;)

IH are fun ..

My two cents is do not get sucked in to IH Parts specialists ..

I built up a 65 last year and found that many of the parts interchange with other more common models from earlier years. Either that or weld a lot..

That's a brutal truck you got there :D

It was a nice day, and we had a couple feet of snow a few days ago. I figured I might as well go play. ;)

I should really get off my lump and put the front chains on one of these days. I also need to pay some attention to the hydraulics I think. The plow doesn't hold it's angle very well, unless I hold the valve constantly to the angle. I'd much rather be able to set the angle and then let go of the valve handle while I'm driving. I'm not sure if it's the angle cylinders, or the valve itself that is leaking. But I'll probably wait for spring to tackle it, because it still does just fine for my purposes.

I like it! Pics of engine compartment and inside of cab, when you get a chance. Please.

Here's some pics from the PO when I bought it. I have since filled the hole where the tachometer should have been (it's a cable driven tach--got a new cable).

I'll try to bring my camera up next time I'm tinkering with it.

Sorry Dan... got too

I could have used that yesterday... We got hammered. 10-12" in about 4 hours.

No need to apologize! I've been frustrated nobody makes a Mr. Plow door magnet. Because I'd buy those so fast it would hurt.

I do, on occasion, sing the jingle when I'm starting it up. ;)

I said I would snap some pics of the engine compartment for you. I will do that tomorrow I think.

But this month I've been moving firewood. A LOT of firewood. Hauling it out of the forest with the track loader, and dumping it into Dot the dump truck to haul up to the pile. Dad was here helping, and he really like driving Dot.

So I got a video of Dad dumping the firewood out of Dot onto the pile, which I have named "firewood mountain." It's roughly 12 feet tall now.

Listen to that NH180 purr!

Thanks for sharing this stuf.
