I finally got around to putting some BFG MT's that I got from Craigs List a while back. I found a set of five and one was brand new while the four were slightly used. Then I scored another new one. I put the new ones up front and the the used ones in the rear.
Love how they look compared to the 32x11.5's I was running. They seem to handle the same if not even better than the AT's that are still on my other rims. Because they are skinnier I think they are a little bit more responsive.

They do seem a little slower from the line but they also seem to have a little better gearing for the highway speeds.

The fit the wheel wells better than the smaller 32's I was running that's for sure.

I just put 33-1050R15 BFG A/T KO on my rig. https://forum.ih8mud.com/60-series-wagons/373003-spring-time-run-cleghorn-fire-road.html I went up from 31s and I love the 'rubber overdrive'. IMHO, this is the best size for a 60/62 with a small lift. The only thing negative that I noticed is a little bit of vague steering at freeway speeds, especially on rough pavement. Are you experiencing similar issues? What pressure are you running? I may just be fighting sagging rear springs.

No freeway issues at all. Just got back from a 250 mile round trip. 100 freeway, 125 twisty mountain roads, and about 25 dirt roads.

I'm running a two year old OME Medium Heavy suspension. I was not carrying a real heavy load but was not empty by any means.

I probably should have checked the pressure before I left because this is what I found.
Three were 45 and the drivers side front was 42. I should note that they were all mounted a few months ago except for the Driver side front that was lowest. That one was just mounted last week. That high pressure was fine. It tracked straight and didn't wander at all. Like I said in my first post. It seemed to be a bit more responsive than the other tires I was running when cornering in the mountain twisties.

Old tires were Cooper Discoverer Radial LT 32x11.5x15 (they have been great tires by the way with thousands of paved miles and hundreds of off pavement)

Looks better with the new ones

The BFG's look much better than the Coopers for some reason. Maybe the width to height ratio has something to do with it. I'd like the same size in the MTR or the AT on my 62. Are you running the stock gears? If not - what are you running? If so - is it pretty slow getting up to speed?

The truck looks great with those tires!

The fog lights look good, too! :hillbilly:

I like the new look!

Beautiful!
As owner of an red 85 fj60, your truck is what im working toward. looks great. are you running an ome 2.5" lift?

I love the hub caps as well! Are those stock, or aftermarket? I envision the new tires on the old rims.... That would be a GREAT look! Great looking truck buddy! Hope mine will get there someday!

What type spacers are you running on the ARB to hold your High Lift like that....
Are spacers rubber / metal ?

TIA

The stock chrome rims only came in 15 x 6.

Tony

While a 60 with a stick will handle 33's with 4.10's, A 62 with a factory auto will do much better with 4.88's. Thats what I ran in my 62 before I moved everything to my diesel.

Stock gears and yes it's slower getting up to speed. I can see re-gearing on the far horizon if I ever have a problem.

Thanks Mot, some people think I'm some sort of official when I'm behind them.

Thanks! OME Medium front Heavy rear - not sure about the lift size.

Thanks, Stock FJ40 Rims with hub caps and of course Stock FJ62 rims.
I plan to properly paint the FJ40 rims and get the MTR's on them someday. For now I still have both sets. There is a silver and black FJ62 that has the old school rims with the skinny MTR's and it looks super cool. I think it's BRTKLR here on MUD.

Just some long bolts with some washers,
and steel sleeves I got at the hardware store. Painted them all black.
