Hi everyone,

I finally got crawl control and multi-terrain select installed on my 2017 Lexus GX 460 and what a blessing it is to have! I finally feel that my truck is ready to get a lift kit and bigger tires in order to reach it's full capabilities! :)

Here's my YouTube video explaining the process and me getting advice on how to use it from a professional. :)

Have a blessed day!

Good to hear dealers are now willing to perform this mod. I remember hearing one or two dealers in years past but many wouldn't

Are you able to mention which dealer?

Hadn't had a chance to look at your video yet, but you had a dealer do it??
Wow! Easy-peasy!!

Nice that the warranty is maintained, but the professional may want to watch Sami's video. Crawl control and MTS can be used independent of each other and neither require the center diff to be locked. Not all MTS modes even require 4lo. There are many more combinations of modes that can be utilized. MTS does not require 4lo, center diff lock and CC to be active. Certain conditions could warrant that combo, but they're not always needed.

4 year anniversary this last February when I had a 460 US market unicorn for a few weeks.

Always thought they may have been mantel pieces.....thankfully not. :)

Thanks everyone for the replies and if you watched my video, thank you as well! :)

I asked this particular dealership if I can buy the parts (which I was available to from the Lexus parts store at this dealership), so I asked them if they could install it for me.

The people at the dealership were super nice and they checked my GX 460’s VIN number and it matched to the crawl control module and control unit, so they said they can install it and charged me a couple of hours of labor for it.

I could have done it myself but I’m not very mechanically inclined and the time alone to install it was worth the cost of labor for the install.

Now onto lifting my truck and putting bigger tires on it, hopefully next year! :)

Hello All! I have a 2011 460 and tried ordering the crawl control switch 84970-60090 but the dealership claimed based on my VIN that the connectors wouldn't fit and that I need part number 84970-60100. Has anyone else heard of a similar situation as this thread only references 84970-60090 for 2010-2019 non-air bag models? What are your thoughts about 84970-60100 ??? Thank you!

Do you currently have 4 switches in the center console next to the shifter or just 2? Your rig may have had the AVS / RAHC and a PO swapped out the air bags for springs and that may be why they are telling you that. Mine had the bags swapped for springs and I installed 84970-60090 in my 2013 without issue. Order from one of the on-line vendors and you'll save some money vs most parts counters.

Thanks Bang Bang! Yes, only 2 switches on mine. I just spoke with parts desk and showed them the part they indicated I need is acutally the part I currently have and am attempting to upgrade for CC. I caught a good sales price so went with that option. If it is the wrong part I'll post on here for one of you guys! Thanks much for the prompt response. mb

If you're giving them your VIN #, then they're going to tell you that the currently installed part (non-Crawl Control) is the one and only correct part, as CC/MTS were not spec'd in the US on early 460's. Just order by the part number in this post, and don't give them your VIN, or they'll just charge you for the part you already have installed. Bell Lexus online in Scottsdale got my part no problem, mailed and received in a matter of days.

Hmm... I'm thinking of adding this too, but I got the lift done on my 2018 luxury trim and they did an air bag delete. I'm not sure if that impacts which part to order, so I haven't pulled the trigger yet...

If you have 4 switches and either of the top 2 switches do anything, order the crawl control module that has the 4 switches (84970-60070). If you have 4 switches and the top 2 do nothing then you can order either module (84970-60070 or 84970-60090).

Mine does have 4, but the left top no longer does anything I believe and the top right should still work? I'm not 100% sure, but I have had it set on sport since I bought it and haven't touched it so...

If the AVS shocks have been removed and you no longer have the rear airbags just get 84970-60090 as Bang Bang mentioned above

Mine only had the 2 bottom switches, DAC and 4WD L and H so it was easy. Play with the top switches to see if they do anything.
The top left one don't and the top right one doesn't have any indicators that show whether it's functional or not on the screen or anything so it's harder to tell.

FYI: RAHC for the rear bags has this indicator in gauge cluster on 10-19 460

H , N, or L

"Off" also displays of deactivated in that same window.

As stated no indication of AVS settings on 10-19

'22 has indicators for all
