I feel a loss of power and fuel efficiency after Timing Belt replacement

I had a similar issue that I posted in the forums. My right cam was off by one tooth (see pics) I tore it down and did as suggested above setting the belt at the crank and left cam keeping the slack on the tensioner side. I lined up the right cam bank and now they all are dead on the timing marks at TDC. So I am guessing your cam is off by one tooth. Mine ran crappy, with slight shudder until I corrected it. Now its smooth as a baby's you know what ;-)
good luck!

Revival here but curious if these timing marks look proper? Since timing belt service, seems like engine is less responsive and very sluggish going uphill like pulling a trailer.

Not positive here but the timing marks look off to me and that would cause your issues. These are photos of my replacement and it runs fine.

Adding a photo from factory service manual. It’s a little hard to see but maybe you can see the recommended settings and marks (as in my above photos). Idk but it looks like your mechanic may not have got it on correct. Like others have said even one tooth off (which is easy to do) can cause rough running.
