I bought Lexus DOT 3 brake fluid on eBay. I don't know how I feel about it.

I could see someone selling something like that if they sold their rig and didn't have a use for it...maybe.

$27.99 was pretty close to the cheapest I found besides this one.

My lexus dealer sells these for $7 canadian each!
For the money you spent, you could have had 1 liter DOT 5.1 from RockAuto.

So it's possible that someone gets these at cost (or steals them from work) and makes a little side money.

I wasn't a buyer, just relaying the prices I came across out of curiosity after reading the post.
I get my fluid for free. One of the perks of a mechanic.

Our shop specializes in German makes and has always run dot 3/4, and in the case of BMW and a few MB's we run the LV fluid.
We've never used 5.1 in anything. We routinely flush every 2 years on all customer cars and very rarely have any abs system failures.

I have been running the Pentosin LV in my lc/lx for a while, mostly because we had a large stock of it on hand.
