guys-

looking at a "B" tranny mount and a "HZ" I noticed a bias on the HZ to one side or other. The B stamp is on the same side as the bottom plate "tit" (metal protrusion). The H of the HZ is on the opposite side so I can't tell.

for ye who have a H55 mounted HZJ7X, do the studs on this mount move the tranny to right side or left side of frame?

Hi Rick Is this what you need?
1HZ PICS (Small).webp

I hope this makes sense:D
1HZ PICS (Small) (2).webp

Maybe Rick wants to know how far is the transmission centerline is to each frame rail? Dunno. Is this mount off an FJ73 or the HZJ75?

Dave

Its off a HZJ75.Rick sent me a PM. I hope I got it right. I think he wants to know which way the mount goes on and the relationship between the 2 studs into the crossmember and the 4 bolt holes in the tranny.
See how the top 2 are to the right of the 2 studs.

hmm strange-
the mount I have if put in correctly puts the "H"'s in the back.

bias of tranny is to right side of frame it appears.....

if you take a look at the 75 sreies the engine sits crooked from the factory. tail to the rH and front to the left...
cheers

wayne-

same is true of 1960's F engine set ups. When I placed the HD-T in the 45 wagon frame I located the crank pulley nut at the same position as the ole F with the best rear local I could using a 1982 J40 mount on the H55. All of the rubber mounts, J60/40, J70/4 use a mount with the studs equadistance from the ends. For some reason, the HZ's move it to the right (they are also 1/4" shorter than B...).

Like Dave Tay and soon Jeff Bryant- I too will switch to the HZ/HD platform in a pre 1990 7X series...........
