HZJ77 shock suggestions

HZJ77 pros-
I have a 1992 HZJ77, currently living in Japan and yes taking back to the states with me in due time. Right now it has what appears to be a 4” lift. I had old and tires ProComps on it now. Looking for something with about 72cm in length (28”). Have reached out to OME and they have some stuff but were very hesitant to give out a lot of information as most of their lifts stop at 2.5”. Bilstein still has not returned my inquiry. Any other ideas for shock replacement on this old beast?

I’d say it looks pretty good.

Yeah it actually does. I was never a huge fan of it on the Tacoma or Tundra but looks better on the 77.

There was always one or two of these 77 in that grey color at the LC meets I went into in Japan, really a great color on them. Almost wish someone repainted mine before I got it lol. I can't tell if that one is the metallic "cement grey" or not, but they look good with and without.

Easiest way is to just measure the lengths that you “need”.

Just the distance from shock mount to shock mount. that will give the ride height of the shock. You basically want that number to be in the middle of the extended/compressed length of the shock

You can at least give those measurements to companies for a starting point. I run bilstein 5100 they are a decent shock. I think my rear is valved a little to light.
