Hey all, I usually lurk in the 40 series section. Looking for diagrams/blueprints/schematics on 1999-2007 70 series LWB for a future build if anyone can help? This frame has the pre-V8 ‘narrow’ front chassis rails with an outside width of 725mm.

Cheers

Dan

I only have the 75 though. The chassis dimensions are in the workshop manuals. There is a threat on those on top of the 70s forum section.
Cheers Ralf

Exactly like that! Well, almost exactly like that. I’m looking for the coil front diagrams. Appreciate the steer though, will check out the FSM’s as you suggest

Are you looking for 78 or 79 series dimensions? CruiserCult has a Toyota body building manual for the 79 that gives full chassis dimensions for single cab models.

Thanks for that. If it’s the one that has both VDJ and HZJ/FZJ schematics then I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it. The only issue is that it conflicts with some information I have in that it lists the front chassis rails as being the same distance apart in both six-cylinder and V8 models. It’s well documented that Toyota had to widen the front rails and axle housing to get the V8 to fit (but neglected to widen the rear). So unfortunately I’m hesitant to trust it for what I need.

Oh, you're looking for the post-2007 dimensions. I think the one I've seen is 1999-2006 frame dimensions.

It would make sense that the front frame dimensions are the same for the V8 and HZ, GRJ. Otherwise you would have to make two frames and have two different body mounts

Maybe we have crossed wires but the manual I’ve seen has the six and the V8, suggesting 1999-present. The info I need is 1999-2007.

It’s just occurred to me that other markets got the HZJ/GRJ 70 series after 2007. Unfortunately for the info I’m chasing, in Australia, any J7 after 2007 was a VDJ only. We never got a 2007+ HZJ/GRJ 76/78/79 down here. In retrospect I should have specified that in my original post.

Original post edited for clarity.

All frames regardless of engine were widened 80mm up front in 2007.
Makes sense. I thought it was a typo in the body building manual when it showed this. In any case I’m after 1999-2007 frame dimensions.
