I purchased the Marlin Hy-Steer setup recently and I have soem questions. Right now I do not have the time to do a complete knuckle rebuild so I was wondering if I can still install the hy-steer. Can I just un bolt the steering arms and remove the pitman arm and then install the hysteer system. Please let me know if I am a jack@$$.

Thanks,

Aaron

Yeah you can do that, just make sure that if the knuckle seems to tight afterwards then pull some shim out.

yes you can

and to correct the above if its too tight you would wanna ADD shims not take them out. Removing them would make it tighter.

other than that your good.

you shouldn't need to re-shim.

agreed.

unless for some reason the little "stud" is longer or shorter... just put back what you take off and ill be willing to bet its pretty dang close if not right on.

Yup you can. Factory I believe is i thick and 1 thin up top. On the bottom is 1 thick. In reality, you shouldn't need to re-shim.

Correct, if it is off, it will be infintesimally off.

Have fun and Goodluck
