How to mount PS pump bracket? (Oz)

I'm sure this is a common problem, but when I went to go mount my PS pump bracket on my 1983 FJ45, I ran into clearance issues from the water pump<->thermostat hose (see pics).

What is the best way to solve this? I don't think the OEM bracket had any spacers, correct?

I should also mention that this OEM bracket is for the RIGHT-hand side of the 2F as it is a RHD FJ45

Great picture . Where did your pump bracket come from? Is it specific to your year/model?

I read a thread recently of a guy who used an 80 series power steering pump and bracket that mated perfectly to the block using existing holes (where the engine hoist hook is attached). Here's the link: https://forum.ih8mud.com/40-55-seri...p-stock-ps.html?highlight=fj80+power+steering

To use that bracket in that location you will need to build a spacer.

For mounting off the head the brackets are different on a Right Hand Drive the only space is the engine lifting hook.

Its not really a spacer it's the lifting hook and actually thinking about it I think it may go on after the bracket not before.

Genuine brackets don't interfere with the water pump but they are specific to RHD models.

That bracket you have is not the correct one.

Yep, but the lifting hook only covers two holes, but that would still not be enough space. The bracket is indeed the proper OEM bracket direct off the boat from Oz.

Ahh, very nice indeed and shows he had the same hose problems! I'll post over in said thread.

Hopefully this helps show the OEM bracket and the location on the RHD 2F.

Remove the hose, mount the bracket and put the hose back on passing the hose through the hole in the bracket...

This is my bracket, but my alternator sits there now. You may have a bracket to suit a later 2F/3F or even 3FE that has a different water pump set up and thermostat housing as they do alter even though the mountings are all the same.

The work week came early and had no time in garage with Troopy down-time as it is my DD, so I'll need to wait a few weeks to update everyone! No doubt though I'll need to re-route the water pump<->thermostat housing tube, can't figure out how to make the bend without a kink.

I have seen this issue before. OE hose length is not sacrosanct. You can cut 1/2-3/4" off both sides and still get the hose to span while eliminating the clearance issue. I have had lower radiator hoses that required removing in excess of 1" to orient properly.
