@e9999 maybe you can add this to the FAQ in the 100 section @Romer can you make this a sticky on the 80 section? @woody I am not sure who the mod is for the 200 section, but it would be good there too.

Some of you know this, but I doubt everyone does. I found out in the last year, probably because my previously my vehicles were older.

Lexus and Toyota have owner’s sites where you can login and get info for your vehicle. This can also act as a tool for prospective buyers to look at the maintenance records. You can see how long/frequent a vehicle was dealer maintained and any issues that may have occurred. This shows a lot of data that the carfax reports do not always show. Then you can delete the VIN if you decide to pass on said vehicle.

Awesome, thanks! When I was looking to buy a GX I found out about the Lexus site but couldn't find the same for Toyota. Now that I bought a LC instead this is a huge help. I went to the dealer and they told me a little history but wouldn't print it out for me. I even told the lady at the dealer "I wish Toyota did the same as Lexus and let you look this up online" and she says "Yeah me too". Guess some dealers don't even know.

Thanks for the link.

The link to the Toyota look up page doesn’t appear to be working anymore?

This says that for service history it only shows current service and won’t forward service history to a future owner...sooo...is there a way for us to see prior service seeing as how a new owner would be a future owner?

I tried looking up my vin on Toyota last night and it came back with zero records. Seems hard to believe given it's a 98, I would have thought it went into a dealer at least once during it's life. Anyone have any tips?

I have a 2002 LX. Lexus site does not recognize my VIN.

I used the website last week and it worked as expected. The carfax for my rig showed mostly dealer maintained and the same, with a bit more information, was reflected on the toyota owner's page.
