How might one increase boost pressure on a 1-3B-T, aside from installing an intercooler? Wastegate modification perhaps? any ideas?

speed shops or build your own, do a search of this site and there is a diagram buried in there.
i do not have a link right now, maybe someone else has it book marked...

I read up on the grainger valve, pretty simple, just interruput the line to the waste-gate actuator and regulate the pressure going there. Having looked a little more I found one better than a grainger valve: www.turbosmart.com.au , one click on the dial=1psi, retails for about $90.00, bolt-on application, real slick, even got an in-dash model. My question is: do I necessarily need a pyrometer kit, if so what is the max. safe temp on an otherwise stock engine? Can I run 12-13psi with no worries? Does shortening the exhaust and removing the muffler affect exhaust temp?
Just a wee bit more power would be cool. :)

yes, if you are going to play with the boost and fuel then get a pyro...
cheaper than a new engine...
cheers
