My 1988 JDM BJ71 came factory equipped with a retractable weather front behind the grill. Works very well to keep the temps up durring those cold canadian winters. Also a great way to keep the mud out of the A/c condenser and rad when out playing.

It is such a simple yet brilliant idea, I am surprised I have not seen it on all kinds of vehicles. I tried to swap it over to my BJ74 but it did not have the same brackets built into the condenser to allow it.

Just wondering if anybody else has this option, especially the BJ70's sold in Canada.

My Cdn spec BJ42 has the winter rad blind for those extreme cold weather days.

It's standard equipment on all the Canadian and JDMs that I have seen.

Huh, I thought I had something special on my BJ71. Turns out I am just missing something on my JDM spec BJ74

It would be rare in oz if that makes you feel better:D

I think the common thing in oz is to put some fly wire in front of the rad and air cond condesor to stop the bugzz
Nice option but mate

JDM's will have it but it depends on if they have the winter kit or not, usually trucks sold in the colder areas in japan will have them but in the warmer areas it isn't needed. Most if not all of my cdn diesel cruisers came with it.

what else does the winter kit consist of?

wooly socks? :p

i have that curtain on my HJ60, it is so rusted i cant pull it down though.

If it did have it at one time you should still have some brackets or holes where it was mounted. My BJ74 is not set up to accept it. It's missing the little brackets on a/c condenser.......although I suppose your Cdn spec BJ70 is probably missing the a/c condenser too! :D

Louis is right

Most if not all of my cdn diesel cruisers came with it.

I had that on my 1983 ex-BJ60 CDM

I have this on my 1982 BJ42 CDM

I did not have this on my 1985 BJ70 CDM ......

Had it on my BJ42, but now it is removed, for the intercooler rad.

i have not seen the blind on ANY of my JDMs i brought in... and that have been quite a few...

The first BJ74 i brought in from japan came from Hokkaido in the north - it had the kit and it still worked.
