Unfortunately, the time has come to get rid of the FJ80 with 179,000 miles on it. Fuel prices are definitely one of the reasons, 12 MPG is painful with three kids that need to constantly be driven all over town!!!. (I still have my 70 FJ40 :) ) I am in Roseville, California and my wifes vehicle is a 1993 FJ80 completely bone stock, runs great, never off road, in great condition.... with excellent maintenace records. The only flaw is the interior was leather and the seats began to tear, they have seat covers on them right now. Does anyone have a ballpark figure of what one of these is going for? I was thinking about posting it in the Toyota Trails mag, I really would like to sell it to a cruiser follower who wants to set it up for the trail.

This would be an excellent rig for someone who wants to throw a lift on it and wheel it... has front and rear lockers w/automatic tranny.

Thanks for any input.... unfortunately I dont have a picture, but the color is the grey two tone with grey interior.

Thanks
Fman

I would say anywhere between $7-11k. Put an ad in the 'mud classifieds. I have had great luck selling on Craigslist, but you may have to put up with low ballers and flakes.

I paid $5,000 for my 95 locked 80 with 196k.... I would start by asking the prices people "say" on mud then come down to the real world prices when it comes time to sell..

The way I see it is that while it's one of the best autos to ever drive on the road it's still a 14 year old suv that gets bad MPG and cost under $40,000 new so I don't see any way you can get more then maybe 15% of that and if you ask me that's only cause it's a Toyota!

As a side note you can have my rust free 95 locked with new 33s and a brand new 2.5" OME for $7,000 to $11,000.... Let's just call it $8,000 and I'd be happy as hell with that!! Heck I put it up on mud for $5,700 and nobody wanted it for that.. From what I've found eBay is to place to sell cars, Mud is the place for people to tell you why they can't buy your car but wish they could... :flipoff2:

Autotrader.com. Search for similar cars, get the price average, go from there. I too have posted cars here for very reasonable prices with no serious interest. I posted them on Autotrader and they sold through the online site before the magazine was printed. My '94 4Runner, listed here for $5000 for a few weeks, sold within 24 hours for $5500 on Autotrader.com.

A 93 with that many miles would be below 6K depending on the condition. With what you described the setas at, I would say about $4500.

You're getting a wide range of $$$, probably the biggest factor is your local market... Some areas will command more than others. Research of local classifieds/online ads will get you the most accurate price range, IMHO.

Sell it to me for $1000.00.:D
I was just pricing those on craigslist...With that being said, there were only a couple ranging in price from 2500.00 with 220k miles and one with 179K miles for 5000.00.
I bought my 62 on craigslist and I sold a couple of items on there as well. The prices on there are usually pretty fair. Once in a while youll find some CRAZY asking prices, but for the most part, people are usually pretty reasonable.

Id take it off your hands, but Id have to sell my 62 to do that...I love those 80's. Sure you dont want to keep it and build it up a bit?

good luck,

Chicago

So who is selling what and for how much?

A national Auto Trader search for '93's showed;

We found 34 matches
Advertised Price Range for this search

$16,500 Highest price
$3,495 Lowest price
$7,759 Average price

Between $8000 and $10000 especially since it has lockers. The Cali. market brings a better price.
