How many 80ers here with a oem head gasket!

156K on original HG ('95). A buddy of mine here in town has 180K on a '96 with no issues. I am confident that the odds are in my favor that I can get to 200K and beyond on the original. I believe because of the nature of forums, the HG failure rate "looks" higher than it is. Odds are good that when a IH8MUD person has one that lets go, they will post that it did. When a HG does not blow, people do not post....

PO put in the green (WHY!!), so, I guess I will stay green and flush yearly.

I'll keep thinking positive thoughts, buy my parts from Cdan and, if it blows, flat bed the truck home and get after it.

I will NOT worry about it. Life is too short to worry about things that may never happen.
 
mine is still strong

302004 km in cold weather up north and still strong,but i did order to get the gasket kit from CDAN just in case,lol
 
254k, and she blew a week or so ago.....
 
94 w/ 278,xxx and on the original headgasket ...
 
160 KM and running perfect... Still don't know what all the fuss is about.
 
197,000 miles still going.
 
150,000 and still going strong! A few leaks accumulating here and there starting to worry me.
 
3 miles on my replacement OEM HG. Not sure if that counts ?

1994 272,000miles on original HG.
 
1994 with 220,000 and still going strong but getting prepared mentally.

95 with 188,378miles. very close to failure i can sense it.
