How many 100 series do you see in a day?

Yeah, see LX's much, much more often than Land Cruisers. Pretty crazy considering the LC sales numbers probably blow the LX's out of the water.

Here in NYC (Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, Manhattan and Staten Island), I see probably 0-1 a week. Strange, but 99% are from 1999 (noting the amber brake lights).

I see more than I can count. Part of that is the area of Dallas I live in is a demographic that can and does buy high dollar SUVs. I see tons of LX 100/200's. More than even worth counting. I do like spotting the TLCs. They are fewer, but I see at least 5-10 a day if I had to guess (of the toyotas that is)

On a recent weekday drive from urban Oakland to suburban Moraga (~13 mi) I counted seven 100s, two 200s, two 60s and one 40. The further I got, the cleaner and closer to stock everything was (except the 60s).

I don't notice 80s as much, which is sad, because I do have a soft spot for them.

0. Toyota overall is not popular in this overwhelmingly GM city and in the greater Lansing area (pop. 460,000) there are only a handful of Land Cruisers.

It's somewhat rare for me to see one - maybe once every couple of weeks.

Typically see 1-3 a day. My commute is from IL/WI border to Schaumburg IL which is about a 35 mile drive one way. It's a pretty populated area, so these things are definitely out and about. Still in VERY small numbers compared to GM and Ford suvs.

There's a doctor here in town with a 40, a 62, and a 100. I see at least one of them daily depending on what he decided to drive to the hospital that day. There's a few modded 80's, one other modded 100, and believe it or not a very nicely modded 200. There are of course quite a few beat down and/or bone stock of the 80 and 100 series as well. This is in a town of about 65,000 people.

I see countless LX's, LC, 200's and 80's. I'm one of four hundies in my kids car line.

Geographically, Raleigh is a short drive to the ocean and mountains. LC's seem to be the vehicle of choice.

A lot. If we're including parked, I'm into double digits before I leave my little subdivision (2 blocks by 0.7 miles).

I'm amused by the number of families that own multiple 100 series in my area.

I see 4-5 a day, maybe more depending what side of town I'm on...Ended up talking to a guy at a gas station also driving one the same color as mine a while back. There is another imperial jade mica truck that lives near me somewhere and we ended up sitting next to each other at a stoplight recently and both ended up just looking at each other. Funny part is many of the 100s/lx trucks I see came from the same dealer I got mine from as they always several of them in stock. It seems as though there are more every week. (in Oklahoma city btw)

This is an interesting thread. Even if anecdotal. As the user from Michigan pointed out, you don't see Toyotas in parts of the world where Gm dominates. Such as upstate NY, Penn, or Michigan. And auto subsidies make it very difficult to get premium model Toyotas in Canada. There is strong demand for the Tacoma in Canada. The Land Cruiser would be a great vehicle to own in Canada.

Colorado has, IMO, a high concentration of LCs. Maybe more than anyone on a per capita basis.

But the real question is close to what the Michigan user suggested, and that is are there are a lot of Toyotas in your particular area, there will be a predictable mix of models. My belief is that if that brand loyalty vastly outstrips model preference. Meaning, if they like Toyota AT ALl, there will be land cruisers. So if there is a Camry, there will be highlanders, Tacomas, etc.

In Texas, my observation is that I see an unbelievable amount of Tacomas, Tundras, and 4runners. And while I do see 2 or three land cruisers per day, they are likely the same ones. After that it's Lexus like crazy. Lexus IS unquestionably the prestige brand on a volume basis IMO.

But if you're talking about newer model 4x4 purchases, Jeep and Land Rover pretty much crush everyone else.

That just suggests that women are the decision makers in vehicle purchases more like often than most will admit.

That, and the US preference and understanding of quality has some ground to gain.

Interesting. Here in Kansas I think when people think of off-roading or 4x4s it's either in association with rock-crawling or mud-bogging or something like that which is maybe why I see lots and lots of Jeeps and pickups. There are dirt roads/trails around but not like the roads/trails you find out West or in Appalachia. I mean, it's kinda fun taking day trips through the Flint hills of Kansas or the Ozarks in Missouri/Arkansas, but when you need to carry gear for some distance through the Rocky Mountains or the Great Basin desert, the LC becomes a more attractive option, which is probably why you see more of them in those locations.

Hard to tell, but between Marshall, VA, Manassas, VA and Fairfax VA I prolly see 5 cruisers and an occasional LX a day. If I am out doing yard work in Marshall on the weekends I will see prolly 5-6 100's and an occasional 200 series.

San Antonio, TX
When I'm at work driving around all day I'll typically see 3-5 per day. Out near my house I occasionally see one with an ARB bar and my neighbor has a stock one.

Are you closer to downtown or nearer a suburb? I ask because the neighborhoods in SA can be distinct between older/newer. I would bet the Heights crowd wouldn't go near a LC, while the suburbanites would...

My area borders an affluent area, but I live near a hub with a LOT of vehicle traffic. So I see 200 series Land Cruisers more frequently than their sales suggest. Bodes well for a future purchase for sure! But on the whole, I see an almost disturbing amount of Land Rover products, but much of this is due to the fact that the cost of living is cheap and disposable incomes are significant.

I see the two in my driveway and then the one that I talked one of my friends into buying.

Other than that I rarely see any 100 series.

I do see an LX 570 down the street from me and one other 200 series once in a while

Not many cruisers in my area.
