I was working on preparing the annual "25 for Sale" thread and digging through the old pictures and I realized that I've owned this truck for ten years! This is some kind of record for me, and I think the girls are right, shouldn't sell it. ;) Guess I'll have to get that second job to pay the last college tuition............

This is one I don't mind losing to John............ post an old pic if you have one.

2/27/2002 After it got it's first taste of salt on the open car carrier.

No old photos and no 25 but I've had my '63 FJ40 for close to 20 years. I think we bought it in May of nineteen and ninety two. I might have the bill of sale somewhere...found it, April 17th 1992. Now to find the 35mm pix...

Found the negatives, had to go get new prints and a disc.

It looks the same now, just like me and my wife. This was the day we bought it, this week 20 years ago. Our wedding ceremony was April 11th, 1992, we took a road trip up through California, Oregon, Washington and back down through Idaho. This was at my best man's dad's house ( SW Idaho), he took it for trade from someone who owed him $$. My wife wanted it, so he made us a deal. It was our first cruiser, now we've got four, this 40, a 45, 55 and an 80. A few others have come and gone but this one is still around.

I won't own the white one for ten years until next month. Need to check the title to be sure it may be April. The grey one wasn't purchased until June in 2002. Besides my first cruiser I still have three before the first 25. And a few after the first 25:rolleyes:

I see your first FJ25 next to this one. I know it's long gone. What happened to the 69-71 FJ40 parked in front of your first one?

You know Jim if you sell the 25 it's because you want to sell it. For what you would get for it won't make that much difference to any student loan. If you were making payments I might understand. I also know you really want a FJ45 pickup. I would only sell the 25 when your ready to purchase one. Otherwise you will sell it than later you won't have the money for a 45.

That said I would be willing to sell any of my 25s for the right price. The 45 on the other hand isn't for sale. Since the first time I seen the 45 I had to have one. It is funny the bezel police don't patrol the 25 section or I would have been busted already for the one on the FJ45. That was flipped as soon as I got it back to AZ.

I can't find the disc I had with pictures from a old computer. Those have the pictures of my white 25 when I first bought it. Still have the old photos but my printer won't scan because the ink has dried up. Won't buy ink just to scan so it's a catch 22. Until I decide to get a new printer I won't used I'm SOL. Jim I know I Emailed you pictures back in 02 of the white one. Feel first to post as long as I'm not in them. It was bad enough I posted a picture of me back in 75. I do have one from around then that was closer up but is also shows the cracks in the lens.:crybaby: But this is proof I had hair at one time.

Looks like I'll have to change the thread title. Wish I could see the pics on my phone, I'll look tonight.

I've only been at this since 1980, so my pics aren't so old. Funds from the last 25 went to a wedding that didn't happen so I've learned that life lesson.

You beat me on the age of the 25 but those are new compared to some of my others. I even remembered I still have another FJ40 from before my first 25. I will gladly delete all my non FJ25 post and pictures if you want to keep this on track.

Okay I deleted the non 25 out of my first post. Gave me a reason to delete that picture of me before somebody saved it. :grinpimp:

Ha, titled changed so I'll put it back later. :p

Seriously, need to change it for all those folks that keep this place alive but know better than to get involved with a 25..................... :)

From the day I picked my 25 up at Jim's house. Remember the date Jim? 2006-2007-2008?

Glad time flies for you too........ :hhmm:
Nice tow rig and trailer by the way.

2005 Coal Mine Cruiser Classic, so it was some time before then........... :p

'69? 40 is long gone ................ so is this '73 in the background. He made me take it with my first evil 25. This is the first one in '01, permanently chained up and ready to work, thought I was saving the last one on the planet.

So the 40 guys don't feel left out, I'll pollute my own thread. :)

My first 40 in 1980? I only had it five years or so. Notice the body condition of a nine year old used Toyota in New England. I remember the patches well..........that red section is a trunk lid from a '68 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe, the rocker panel a shelving section from my job at Big A auto parts. Up until a few years ago when I lost my breaker bar extension ............. I still had pieces of the "useless" soft top bows kicking around.

I love the old pics. Thanks Guys. Jim.. are you still rolling RK3's there? should have saved them. Dean would give you $100 piece for them now. :D I only entered cruiserdom in 94. Long time comparatively on mud but short compared to you 25 geesers ;)

John, I think i remember that 25 for sale in trails? I probably still have the issue

 Are you talking about one of my 25s The first I bought the old fashion way it was for sale for sale section of a new paper. You know the real paper not the one you read on the internet. The owner said I was the only person who even knew what it was. Everyone else thought itwas a typo and really a FJ45. From what he told me he was starting to get the out of town calls becasue it was making it way to some internet sites. The grey one was bought off Ebay traveled to Oregon to pick it up. If my scanner worked I could post some pictures of that trip. Last two Jim told me about. He got parts off of number three. But number four he just had a general idea where it was. If I hadn't lived in that area years before I would have never found it. Got Jim the Phone number but he never followed thru. Long story short I later got the number from back from Jim later and bought it. Turns out it has Torsen Diffs front and rear :bounce:

yikes.. I meant the 45 with that topper on it :)\

Oh, and maybe not 100 each, but I'll find some RK3s eventually :hillbilly:

I'm too much of a newbie on this list, so this is all I'll post for now...I'll be back in 10 years or so

When she came home about 5 years ago...had been sleeping in a barn for 20 years or so...not run for at least 10...
