How long have you had your 25 (or 40, or 45, or 28, or..........)?

yikes.. I meant the 45 with that topper on it :)\

:hhmm: I would be interested in seeing that. The 45 like the first 25 was a news paper ad. This one from a Sacramento paper. John Pardi gave me the lead. The 45 belonged to a gentleman who had died. He went into a nursing home years before but refused to sell the 45 thinking he would still be able to use it to go fishing. After he died it took a year of probate before his bother got title to it which is when I bought it. It would really surprise me if it was in the trails.

Our 1964 FJ40 in June 1973 just after purchase on the fire trail below our home in Berowra NSW Australia.

Very nice, that really does make feel young. :)

Were the rear bumperettes cut to make steps or did they come that way?

So the 40 guys don't feel left out, I'll pollute my own thread. :)

My first 40 in 1980? I only had it five years or so. Notice the body condition of a nine year old used Toyota in New England. I remember the patches well..........that red section is a trunk lid from a '68 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe, the rocker panel a shelving section from my job at Big A auto parts. Up until a few years ago when I lost my breaker bar extension ............. I still had pieces of the "useless" soft top bows kicking around.

If I moved to CT I wouldn't have to worry about having so many cruisers. They would just disappear after a couple of years. :hhmm: Could I get the same results with a sprinkler and rock salt.

that would make for a good science experiment...fill the bed of the 45 with rock salt and have at it with the sprinkler...I am very interested to hear how it worked out...you could even sell it as "rust on-demand" :D

had my cruiser for near twenty years

owned since 93

See I knew you guys could shame me in length of ownership......... :)

That rust on demand thing is called patina now. Read somewhere, probably here, about some paint and oxidizer to mimic it .................... there's nothing like real rust though.

So I'm good with this one. It has some rust with it's original natural paint patina. Only had this one about eighteen years. One of these I may actually drive it if I don't sell it first.:bang:

Any pictures of your FJ25's?

The '58 FJ25 (light blue; split windshield) is a very cool looking rig!!

I bought my '74 FJ55 in 1986, just before my second daughter was born. The '74 FJ40 wasn't adequate anymore. I suddenly needed a rig that had 4 seatbelts.
That Pig served me faithfully through pre-school, elementary school, divorce and highschool. Now I just DD and wheel it. Specs in my sig. Ty.

Looks like you might have done a little work to it since you got it :D

I'm looking at the picture...and I'm wondering just how much is still there on the truck lol

At least all the bondo is gone :)

Almost bought a pig...well before my cruiser...I often wonder what happened to that truck

My 72 FJ40 at 40

I purchased my 3/72 FJ40 brand new from the dealer. I got it right off the boat (they come in on the east coast here in Jacksonville, FL,) and it didn't even spend the night there before my girlfriend (now wife) and I picked it up. These shots, 40 years apart, are of the same cruiser and girl. I took the first photo the day we got it home. I figure if you've got something good you keep it and take good care of it and it will take care of you!
