I have the DV8 bumper, and they recomend removing the grille surround prior to trimming the bumper. They said there are two bolts and two phillips screws, and then we have to push down on a couple of plastic tabs and it pops off. So far I've found six screws, the tabs just break off when you push down on them, and I've accidently broken a couple of other interference fit parts just before the bend. Still...there's a part just after the bend that refuses to pop off. I really feel like I'm going to break this thing! How do I pop this off?

Damn- downloaded that, but can't run it on my computer. Can you take a screenshot of the relevant page for me?

This is the kind of retainer that is stuck. Up high on the grille, they either broke, or the little tab they connect to in the hole broke. Down low though, I feel like if I pull hard enough to break it, the grille surround will break first. Does anyone know how to release these?

Not gonna sugar coat it, I have the same sort of clip on the grille surround on my 2010 and those things are fragile as hell. s***'s just gonna break so go as slow as you can. The good news is this sort of plastic is a great platform for gorilla glue. I've re-glued some clips on various pieces and with the glue it feels stronger than it would of been originally without it. I hope you get lucky!

OK...so I took the whole bumper fascia off so I can see what's going on. This seems to be the connector that won't let go. It doesn't even look like a connector to me...more like an alignment pin, but it's holding on to things TIGHT. How do I release this thing?
