I got new shocks (toyota) and spring bushings (polly) from CCOT for my 1985 fj60. I was able to change my rear shocks in around 45 min. Then I moved on to the bushings in the springs and after much hammering, lube (pb blaster), and jacking things up and down to get the weight off the springs I have only got one U bolt off, and have been stuck on the spring hanger busing (7hrs). Any advice would be great.

fire, the hot wrench, blue tiped wrench, magic wand whatever you call it, you'll need it.

and i believe the part you are calling a "U-bolt" is really the shackles. the U-bolts hold the axle housing to the springs. shackles hold the springs to the frame, on one end.

bust out the torch...get a hand held propane torch and start cookin' You have to basically "boil" them right out...

I was just in doing the same thing last month. I heated the bushings with an accetaline torch and the shackle pins came right out when the rubber was soft. I was then able to pry the old bushings out with a big screwdriver.
