Hi, i've manifactured this heat exchanger for my cruiser , i still have to tig weld all together and then i need to instal it and make a bypass in the coolant hoses of my heater system , but i am not quite sure were the hoses are located. Can anyone show me by picture between wich hoses i best install this, i think i need two hoses cut on my 75 series. Here some pictures, thanks
lock mechanism , backdoor kitchen with water, coleman fuel for stove, sorry for the mess, same rubber carpet will be placed on the floor panel:whoops::whoops:
Where do you buy the "paint over rust" paint in Belgium ? sounds interesting for my chassis as I can't clean it all perfectly...
Be a little careful with checker plate or anything metal... once found out the hard way, morocco in 40° it got bloody hot !!
I have a trekker conversion and have two ali tanks one hot water which has a simple ali tube run in it and a second with cold water, marine pump and regular camping car hot / cold water mixing tap.. very simple but the ali pipe wore through in the hot water tank contaminating the water and lost most of my coolant from the engine…
I’ve replaced the ali pipe with cooper, but now don’t know if its possible to weld Ali and cooper any ideas ?
I buy it at ABC automotive in vilvoorde, great stuff, not cheap and normally not permited in belgium(contains lead),but rockhard, if you paint a steel tube and smash it with a hammer ,the tube will bend but paint doesn't move!!!! I cleaned and sanded everything under the car ,gave it a rust treatment and finished it all whit this product, first rust blaster, than rust paint, than rust seal and than black top ,hard work but worth every penny, you can not weld ali with another material only ali, cupper can be joint with lead but not on steel or ali, if you join ali with steel or cupper,it will oxidate even if you lay a steel plate on an stainless steel plate it will react , cupper is best, send a picture and i look for a solution if you want, also a picture from the webasto heater please, are you from belgium? KBS Coatings - Paint Over Rust - Stop Rust Paint - Gas Tank Sealer - Gas Tank Liner
same lenght,is no problem, but it is steel because ali and staal not possible to weld togheter and when it is airtight almost no corrosion, air + water causes corrosion
I know about the checkerd plate but it is durable, light, easy to clean and hard, like my roofrack, before i had a steel one but welded one in ali, makes a big difference in weight
rosco, i sanded the floor to metal, front and rear, put an anti rust paint, and then the same rust seal paint as the heat exchanger, than special sound matirial and then an 18mm hardboard full size, bolted to the floor with stainless steel bolts
Others that have built heat exchanger showers have had the problem of the water being too hot. Each set-up will be diffrent as different components are being used. If the water is too hot then more plumbing work is needed - to add cool water, control coolant water, etc.
My camping tempertures range between 35F to 70F so mine was not hot enough, but I can recycle it and bring it up to about 110 F.
I simply put the shower nozzle back in the water supply container (sitiing on the front bumper) and recycle the water that way. If the water is cold it can take 5-10 minutes to bring it to tempertaure on an already warm engine.
yeah, lot a work but once you started , sometimes your sick off it but i can't stop. Do you sell cars or why are there always car anouncements under your replies?
LOL ,no they are vehicles I own or have owned. Currently its 2 landcruisers ,a Holden Commodore and 3 motorbikes.
Im hoping to get rid of one cruiser and one bike.Which bikes goes is a hard decision.
Thanks for drawing my attention to my signature,I have now updated it.
