Hood shakes at highway speeds. Is there a way to adjust hood latch down?

Anyone tried side latches or hood pins? The adjusting is close to none and the side rubbers undo themselves at speed.
I had the radiator and its crossmember mount replaced in 2018. No issues before.

I wanna do something about this, I just have other things. It's so annoying.
I've replaced the vertical catch assembly and adjusted the rubbers to no ends.
At least it's only bad at 73 mph.
I have no advice other than notching the bolt holes.
That's next when I have nothing else to do, which is never lately.

It takes like 20 seconds to wrap a couple loops of tape around the center pin where the latch grabs, and its done.

(thats if you can feel play is in the center of the hood, and not the structure of the hood like the one guy).

Tried this ^^^^ and agree.

What type of tape?

My latch adjustment has very little movement. I have taken it right off and looked at the slots, maybe 1/4 inch of possible adjustment. You would have thought they would have given more room.

I also enlarged the 2 mounting holes on the center support bracket. I removed the bracket to enlarge the holes. Mounted the latch about 1/4” lower. No vibration.

Can confirm, this works. Completed this weekend, along with threading the rubber bumpers out another half turn.
Only had to enlarge the holes about 1/8" for me, used a step-up drill bit and it worked like a charm.
No more flutter. Took me about 30 minutes.

G’day all, I know it’s a bit late. But I sorted mine out with a simple tac weld. My hood latch had a noticeable wear groove, I tac welded it up and hood now sits perfect.

What year is your LC?

Exactly the same issue with mine. The latch on the bonnet (hood...) is worn around 30% through. It's not a replaceable part so I will be cracking out the welder as you've done.

I believe I found an easy 30 second solution to my issue. I put a couple loops of electrical tape around the bar/loop in the center of the hood, which fits down into the center latch.

For mine, when the hood is latched, you could lift up on the hood and feel some play up and down in the center where it latches onto the bar. Seems there’s a little bit of wear on the teeth inside the latch, so the bar can slop around a little. Didn’t feel like ordering new latch or welding right now, and a bit of tape right around the bar took the slop out of the latch, and it fits tight. Maybe not best material for long run, but so easy, don’t really care. You might be able to bend the bar upward a little to accomplish same thing.
The electrical tape is brilliant. Worked perfectly for me until I can find a long term fix- elongate center support hole or replace latch. The adjustable rubber bumpers can only do so much if the slop is in the latch.
