1985 FJ60 mostly stock, 3-owner with original paint. Has seen light duty and mainly road miles throughout it's life resulting in a very tight drivetrain and plenty of potential. 231k, original powertrain. Uses no oil. Runs and drives well. Late 85 model is H55f bolt-in ready with correct crossmember and 4 speed spacer.

PO had the rig for 24 years in the California desert, so rust is 98.65% non-existent (no such thing as a rust-free 60, unless it's never been used!). The Cruiser did suffer some sun damage mainly to dash (cracked), carpet (some fading and rear cargo section rotted beyond repair), seat upholstery cracked in places, seat bottoms were partially recovered at some point and foam is decent still. Grille was peeling badly, so was sanded down and plasti-dipped. Door panels, cargo panels, wheel well covers, rear seat, headliner and console all good condition. B-pillar trim is also 9.5/10. Aussie grab handle added, Heater bezel cracked of course. Rear carpet was replaced with light plywood to protect the body and the jute padding is still in place. Also replaced cargo side panels with same plywood, so they and the good tailgate carpet could be stored away to prevent damage. Tint added to provide some privacy and sun protection, but will be removed. Underbody and frame is pristine with no rust issues.

Recent new items include:

Water pump, belts, hoses
Plugs, wires, cap/rotor, valve adjust
Carb rebuild, partial desmog
all filters
All u-joints
Front birfield rebuild with marlin seals, new wheel bearings, trunion bearings and fresh GL-5
All new Brakes, rotors and fluid
Suspension rehab with poly bushings, caster shims,, greaseable pins/shackles and OME leaves added to good condition OE springs to clear brand NEW 33x12.5 Cooper STT's. Rides and drives very nice.
Fresh lube in all gearboxes.

Some minor body dings including RF fender/door damage from a tire blowout at some point that has been crudely hammered back out, but simply adds character. minor dings here and there and a small rust spot LR wheel well from a mud flap left hanging askew allowing a pocket of wet to develop, (see pics). Original patina cleans up nice and I have always enjoyed the faded out pinstriping. This cruiser was dolled up when sold new with all the cheesy add-on's including crap roof-rack, wheel well trim, snake blinders, etc. These have all been removed, but residual effects can still be noted, namely mounting holes and a little adhesive here and there. The dealer also applied a heavy dose of undercoating, resulting in way above average underbody and frame condition.

Issues include, non-working A/C, (never really investigated... though it's all there), a few leaks from engine and t-case, always checked but not significant enough to cause problems, missing headlight washer bottle, crappy stereo, speedo cable a little noisy when cold, rear wiper inop (not sure why-never investigated as this 60 lives in the garage during those rare Cali rainstorms).

My intention is full disclosure, straight talk and no sugar coating to provide a potential new owner a clear picture of this rig. Happy to answer any/all questions from serious buyers.

Vehicle is located in Central California, but is NOT smog compliant. Registered in SoDak on a clear title. Delivery assistance is a potential. Pics available of anything you care to see

The 60 had a noisy cheapo aftermarket A/R pump on it when I brought it home, I installed a gutted factory pump to act a a good working pulley and removed a couple hoses. Also, EGR is disabled, but all there. I still have all removed components, to be included.

How about a beer before you send her off?

Well this is sad.. Good luck with the sale though, hope she goes to a great home!
