Out and about…trying night photos…need more practice!

My little amber LEDs on my front bumper worked great when pulling into a campground ⛺️ at night….turn headlights off…turn amber LEDs on…can see we’ll while not blinding everyone who is asleep

One of my halogen 5000K h3 fog bulbs from Amazon gave out after 13 months, so upgraded to the Auxito H3 6500K LEDs

This color matches my headlight brightness way better for those Instagram photos!

Anyways, easy 5 minute change. Fits without modification. A little tight installing the clip but no mods required.

Also, has 4 cuts in the base to allow for the required 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock install. Some h3 bulbs only have 2 cuts and only go in one way

I’ve been experimenting with a lot of DIY tarp systems for shade. I just refuse to add weight to my roof.

New moonshade style awning. I got it on sale on Amazon prime days. It’s called GOTIDY car awning. It’s approx 7’ by 9” and I can attach to the back to create a nice tall shade to put my kitchen and gear under while freely being able to open rear barn door.

Let’s see how long it lasts and how it works in the field.

Got the AlphaEquipt Foxtrot 17x7.5 zero offset (27 lbs) installed with my 4 year old Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70R17 that still have about 20k miles left on them.

These rims squeeze the tires a little more than the previous 17x9 -12 rims and I feel taller!

After these tires wear out…I’m going narrower and taller at 255/80 or 34x10.5 or 285/75

Also, my rim is now 25mm (1”) away from my FJTOYMAN shin guards. My old rim 17x9 -12 offset were like 1mm away and they would rub the shin guard on big impacts. Now that’s solved! Yay

I have a set of 255/75/17s KO2s on some TRD offroad wheels and Falken Wildpeak MTs in 285/70/17s on sequoia wheels. Both are basically the same 17x7+15 for the TRD offroad and 17x7.5 +15 for the sequoia wheels. I will say that the car feels far more planted with the wider wheels and less squirrelly. Literally night and day. I know the tire plays into that big time but the wider contact patch makes a big difference although the KO2s have incomparably better road manners. My 2 cents

Headlight surgery…replacing 20+ year old headlight housings with new oem sport ones from Bell Lexus in Scottsdale ($261/ea).

Waiting for Amazon to deliver new side marker light bulbs 194 led…mine are not in good shape.

Also, installed Auxito LED turn signal amber bulbs 1156

Getting ready for an end of the year trip…let’s hope it happens!

Well, change of plans. We ended up camping in chloride city and taking a skinny shelf road to an overlook at chloride cliff.

It was a great outing to a new spot I hadn’t been before. Overlooks Death Valley and Badwater Basin.

Amazing area. Got to spend just a few hours there in May on the way back to the Vegas airport after a work trip. Couldn't stop thinking about how great it would be for overlanding.

I saw a few mine shafts and tunnels, but the views from the top into Death Valley are fantastic!

And the road has some challenging sections that I rate a 6 out of 10. And a boulder had just fallen into a narrow shelf road at the end of the trail that made it worse than Chicken Corner on Pleasant Valley Loop.

I went to South Coyote Canyon in Anza Borrego State Park.

The gate to get to Sheep Canyon was closed, so we had to camp by the first water crossing.

Added overlanding molle panels to the outside of the quarter windows. It’s for the looks!

If I load up my two 3-gal rotopx and my 2-gal rotopax, I can carry 8 gallons of gasoline for those trips deep into Death Valley.

That’s like a 300+ mile range including the factory gas tank! 30 gallons at ~10+ mpg when loaded and offroad.
