Typically the relay body doesn’t require to be grounded.
@TheEngineer
12V+ connects to one terminal, 12V- connects to the other through a switch.

Typical relay —
When the switch closes, electricity flows through the little coil inside the relay, creating a magnetic field which swings a contactor to two other terminals, joining them together —.
The tiny bit of current required to flip the relay allows the relay to close the circuit of the high power headlights.

That's what I figured. Somewhere along my installation my fuse for the tail lights got fried. The first twist of the headlight switch kills the fuse but I can still use the headlights. Haven't had any luck tracking down where the issue is. I've checked every ground I touched and still no success.

BTT- Just completed the install. High quality harness for sure, a basic wiring diagram would have been helpful as I just needed a simple visual. Quick question on the low beam, its the 3 prong. It only works if I flip the connector leaving the center prong exposed. I saw on page 1 that this was the case. One would think that you would use all 3. Second issue, I turn the low beams on, hit the high beams and have all 4 lit up. When switching back to low beam all 4 stay on. to get back to the low beams I have to turn them completely off. Then back on in the low position. Very bright lights!!

Switched polarity on the 3 prong. Good to go. Interesting twist... When car is running all 4 lights come on and cannot be switched to low beams. Turn the car off, cycle the lights and we have low beam again. Strange brew.

I wanted all 4 on while high beams and all 4 on low. It took some unique wiring, I wrote up about it but can’t find it yet

Cool. Appreciate the search.

Using the adapters or repining your own, I think this is doable with the H840. Did you buy an adapter? I may have a second one I could send you I’ll look tomorrow
I purchased 2 H840. Assuming this is the "adaptor" you're referring to? Ill have a look at your thread. Again, thanks for the assist.
