Back for some help.
I purchased a new 24v Alternator (Dynamo) from CruiserWorld a couple of months back.
From day one I lost brake boost at idle but a slight press on the go pedal and all was good. (I could stop)

I was just on my way back from a 3200 KLM trip and 1000K from home when the alternator stopped charging and the was no vacuum at all.
So I drove 1000k with rock hard brakes and 2 batteries going flat.

I informed CruiserWorld and was told they were having a 2 week holiday but they would check their whatsapp messages to respond to any request for help.
So far no help.

I have removed the alternator to dis-assemble the VAC unit and was surprised to find wear marks that are not central, so maybe the O ring(s) are not seating properly
I can't replace the O rings as my supplier has told me they are not available.
Can anyone advise whether the scuff marks are nornal (see pic) or is the an issue.
thanks in advance

PS any link that explains how these VAC units work would be helpful, not sure I understand how they can hold vacuum when oil passes through them back into the motor

Just took 2 alternators apart and this is how the pumps look inside.
Almost no wear marks.
Your center part looks way different.
The vacuum it creates is kept in the system by means of a one way ball valve. That is the shiny part on my picture.

Thanks sved, very helpful.
Being non-genuine I'm not sure how the vacuum is maintained in the system in mine.
Your two at least show symmetrical marks around the centre.
So something seriously wrong with mine. And it was obvious the first day.

I thought P1ss Poor service was only systemic in Oz, seems we have the emergence of another pandemic.
I'm really getting p1ssed with being ripped off. Three local mechanics in the last 4 months and now an international supplier.
Looks like I need to get a Japanese truck 24v alternator over the counter here and butcher my mounting bracket.
again, thanks for taking the time...

PS, looks like the Netherlands has a robust consumer protection policy. Maybe hope of a refund or repair, meanwhile no car for a month again.

Have you tried Ashdown-Ingram, part of the Repco empire? I saw them in the catalog some time back, or they have a work around of some sorts..

Thanks rosco, I've ordered one that needs an external REG and also the REG from NAPA.
mostly cos they were on special for $173.
I am holding out hope that Maarten @ CruserWorld does the right thing when he gets back from annual leave.
The one he supplied had an issue from the start, it was the first thing I notice. ( no brake boost at idle as I said above).
If he doesn't I will at least have something that gets the car going, all be it with a backward step with external REG.

IF others here that have cut their mounting bracket to fit an ISUZU 24v could post a pick of what they have done it would be helpful.
My reckoning is, the bracket may be susceptible to cracking after being cut as a fair bit of the rear thick part of the foot has to be cut off.
Leg to leg for 12HT 105mm isuzu is 81mm. Not a lot to remove but its the solid piece at the end.

I found an other mounting bracket I could but as a backup buy $200 is a bit steep. I guess I could get out the MIG and make something up
but I'm getting lazy in my old age.
