Getting ready to yank the 2H out of my HJ60, and went looking for the rear lift hook.

What am I missing here? Anyone have a spare hook for sale?

Ha.. some engines shipped with them, some didnt, I've never worked out why.

At least the bolt holes are there.. knock up something from a bit of flat bar with a twist in it and chase the threads out before bolting it on.

Here's the factory one if you want to roughly copy it..

Both front and rear are same. So you can copy the model of the front one.

Now that is more great information. Thanks, guys (or gals?).

You know, I used to own a 1981 BJ60 before the internet was a thing. I never really did much work on the truck because I couldn't afford dealer shop rates, and didn't really know where to begin on it otherwise. This site makes working on these truck so accessible to almost anyone, it's brilliant.

Hmmm my front lifting point was part of the a.c. bracket. Which is also part of the alternator bracket and a right pita to take on and off.

Right. Mine is too, I just looked. Oh well, it would have been nice...

If the back is the same as the front, I’m pretty sure I had one when I added AC. The ac bracket has a lift hook on it. It would be buried somewhere in my garage, but if you don’t want to fab one up then PM me.

Yeah, if you have one I would be interested in buying it from you. I'd rather an original piece, vs one custom made - even if it is a mundane thing like a lift hook....
