Still wider than puny 245 on the spartan barn-door 200. These came out 0.5" shorter than the mastercrafts but are still 0.5" taller than oem. If they can run these skinny tires throughout Africa and Australia then i should be able to run them through the desert... I'm hoping. Test run within the next hour. If you guys don't hear back you'll know what happened

Well a quick run turned into 3 hours. Had a drive round packed tracks, soft sand and up and down dunes. Performed flawlessly until i stopped uphill on a dune and wanted to see how far it would crawl. Buried it in and had the diff buried and dragging for 3 feet before it bogged. I quickly realised i had forgotten to pack the shovel. Took an hour to dig the 4 tyres, diff, chassis and LCAs free. Deflated to 15psi (was at 38) and drove out with no more drama. Stopped before the road to reinflate and the compressor refused to latch on to the valves and was running at half pressure

Hit the dunes yesterday and gave the skinnies another test, they tend to dig in a bit trying to find hard ground. A slight change in driving habits to get accustomed to the new tires and all is good now, still on road pressure haven't deflated yet. I'll try to find time to do a 3+ hour drive through the desert deflated to see their true colours.

Go ahead! Do it! Make sure to get a shovel as well it'll take a while to dig 2.8 tons out

Desert Nomad & Bedouin60, that mixture = trouble
Tearing up the dunes today and having a blast. Modded 200 VS stock, no stucks no recoveries, no breakdowns the 200 follows through everything thrown at it, supercapable in stock form.

Now it's my turn for pic spamming!!
It was a great trip, especially hauling @$$ over the flatlands and the woops. Not gonna stay stock for too long though!

excellent pics guys - looks like the season started earlier for you? still hot here .. how is this tiregate wheel carrier as compared to the fabricated one you have DN? I have seen it on a Tahoe recently and looked really sturdy but not sure if it will survive the dune bashing?
thanks!

Thanks. Still a bit hot the trans temp never went below 95c had to give frequent breaks to cool things down. A friend of mine had the same model on a raptor and handled all the abuse. It doesn't rattle on corrugations either. This one just needs the bolts sorted to fit the toyota 5x150

Just as DN said, it's pretty good! I even came down off of some sharp edged ones and dragged the dune out along with me and never even noticed. The great thing about it is that its not just held on by the pin but there is a 19mm nut that has an expandable block, which sits inside the 2in hitch, once tightened you can then use the pin as a second form of securing it. Great stuff :D

Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. On the university city/maliha road theres an area there i usually go for any suspension or tire testing to compare.. Or sometimes do the complete haul all the way to fossil rock
