Nice truck and I hope you find a seller quickly. For what my opinion is worth, if you want Bringatrailer money, you'll need to list it there. Cars on BaT also come with 100 to 300 photos and often a couple of videos. That helps pricing too.

Prices here are generally less. Most of us here are cheap bastards and still want to pay 2019 prices.

With that being said, there are lurkers with money here and your price didn't shock me, so good luck with the sale!

The price did shock me. I regularly see units on here in similar condition and mileage without the engine rebuild for ~50% of that cost. How much does a recent rebuild add to value? My guess is no more than $2K. I was expecting a price between $15K and $18K.

I suspect he will need to list it on BAT to get close to his asking price.

I haven't seen an ad at that price point anywhere recently. For a factory locked 80 series that is stock without any rust.

This is as close as I could get. Not locked as been previously modded and the bottom end wasn't redone.

My lack of shock comes from analyzing and reviewing bring a trailer listings. Better deals are often found off local craigslist and Facebook, but not always.

My personal sensibilities are always shocked at anything with more than 200k miles costing more than $10k.

I have alert set up and see all postings for 80 series LC. The posts that sell are often removed. Mostly the ones left up are those that have not sold because they are high priced.

Intresting point... I wonder why the sold ones in that price range are prior 2019 numbers. Inflation sucks I get it, please complain to the government. The new reality is there are ones that have sold for over 30k, so I still feel the price is decent.

No idea where you got 2019. I have seen the regularly over the last 6 months.

Note it appears these have not sold yet. The better deals sell fast.

Those are some intresting finds. Not sure I would call those comps. But at least if someone stumbles on this find maybe they can get a mote affordable deal.

Definitely not good comps as these have not sold. To be a good comp, it has to have sold. Seeing none of these have sold and each has moderate to high DOM, these would seem to be priced too high (I really liked the first one and believe it will sell at near that price). I suspect each of these posts will be accepting offers below their ask or go unsold. The ones I have seen sell fast have asking price that appear to be better values than these (with possible exception for the 1st listed).

Seeing these unsold LC, with moderate to significant DOM, at these listing prices, you still believe subject vehicle is worth $26k? I would provide max value of $2k for rebuilt engine depending on how long ago was the rebuild and miles since the rebuild.

As indicated I was surprised at that price, but I get surprised by some selling prices on BAT and/or eBay motors. OP may get close to that price on BAT.

It depends on who did the rebuild, and what "rebuild" means in this case. If it was just a refresh of the seals and bearings, yea maybe $2k or so. But a full professional rebuild on the 1FZ can be up to $15k or more out the door. For being such simple tractor engines, they're very expensive to rebuild.

In any case, I agree it's surprisingly hard to get top dollar for these trucks, unless it's on BAT as mentioned earlier, where people have cash to burn. I do wish the OP best of luck with the sale though; it seems to have a desirable history and looks really clean.

Nice rig, good luck with the sale!

How about more details? Just a couple pics and the only description is basically how it was owned by a Microsoft exec? That literally means nothing to a potential buyer.
