thats some amazing fabrication. i salute you

That looks great, but when are you going to stop working on it and come wheeling with us?

My mini truck is ready to roll now. Its just a hell of a long way to texas! Can you come up here for new years day wheeling in wellsville ohio? Seriously I plan on having this truck ready 100% for GSMTR 07. I plan to hit a bunch of events this coming summer.

I love it! What did you use to cap the body... just weld sheet metal in there? I'm about ready to do the same type of thing (but nowhere close to as pretty... I'm not that talented), so any details would help! TIA

Made the first body cut 1/2" below the desired corner/bottom. I then folded in 1/2" flanges on the quarter panel with duck bill pliers. A 16ga plate was carefully sawed out from a traced on posterboard template. Tacked and lightly mig zapped in. The lips are now on the inside of the body, they are covered with 3M body panel sealer adhesive from the inside to assure no leaks. Its really easy just time consuming to do it right.

Kirk, coming from a 60-series where this mod is almost a "must have" I love seeing someone pulling it off.

Are you doing dual exhausts? I'd like the symmetry and of course the sound.

Any additional cross member bracing along the frame section your thinnning (yellow line section)? I'm always surprised to see how much the rear flexes when the rear axle if completely crossed up - noticed it when opening the rear hatch.

Isn't there any wheeling in Tar Hollow or Ironton (WNF) anymore?

Can't wait to see the exo design.

beautiful work!

(just don't forget the thing is also supposed to protect you against body damage as in rear-ended...:) )

Looks good! We just got the word that our 4x4 Labs kits are on the pallet, will be here next week! Lots of bumper welding going on.:D

Great! Thanks for the info... So duct tape won't work, huh?:hillbilly:

Now that s*** is funny in pic. number three Kirk...I just caught that and am laughin' my ass off....

ATL is indeed ballin' fun....

Looks good man. I'll see you this week to finish up the rear axle work.

-o-

I want one of those bumpers...you don't need a left nut do you?

I would trade a bumper for a set of portals ready to go?????

Seriously if you like this when I get it done I would consider making you a DIY kit. I could cut and bend up all the parts for you.
